Carpenter, 90, of Danville passed away at 8:56 PM January 29, 2013 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.She was born on January 28, 1923, the daughter of Eli and Katherine Nora Lete. She married George Martin Carpenter on June 4, 1949 in Westville. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Brian Carpenter.

Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joseph G Carpenter of Danville, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 67, on September 19, 2023. Obituary Joseph G. Carpenter. 67 of Danville, passed away Tuesday, September 19 2023 at Arcadia Health of Danville. Joseph was born June 28, 1956, to George and Lorraine Carpenter, who preceded him in passing. He is survived by siblings George M Carpenter, Karen (Jim) Smith, Barbara (Terry) Guinn, Mary Elliott, Carl (Sherry) Carpenter, and Nora (Robert) Setser. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Joe attended Oaklawn grade school, East Park Jr. High, and graduated from Danville High in 1974. He worked at Rhodes/Burford furniture store for 30 years as their janitor, until it closed. Joe also mowed lawns in the Oaklawn neighborhood for many years. He enjoyed watching wrestling and old westerns, as well as collecting sports cards. He will be remembered and missed by the family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church 444 E. Main Street, Danville, IL 61832. Fr. Steven Loftus will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Rortvedt Funeral Services in Tilton assists the family. Virginia Madge Gardner Stalcup, 84, of Bloomington, died Wednesday at Beverly Healthcare.
Born Aug. 20, 1915, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Alfred A. and Alta M. (Nichols) Carpenter.
She was a member of Greene County United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Miller of Solsberry and Judy Sherer of Bloomington; two sons, Phillip Gardner of Bloomington and Rodney Gardner of Solsberry; three sisters, Mildred Fivecoats and Regina Freeman, both of Indianapolis, and Phyllis Fitzwaters of Bainbridge; 15 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alexander Gardner; her second husband, Harvey John Stalcup; one son, James Gardner; an infant daughter; one sister, Gerry Gardner; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Day Mortuary with Pastor Bob Clendening officiating. Burial will be at Greene County Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Born November 15, 1938, in Bloomington, he was a truck driver for Ruan five years. He was a member of Teamsters Local #135 since 1959.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl (Martin) Gardner of Indianapolis; one daughter, Christina Greenwood of Linton; one son, Kip Gardner of Linton; step sons, Christopher Norris, Nicholas Norris; step daughter, Lisa Hunt; mother, Virginia Madge (Carpenter) Stalcup; brothers, Phillip and Rodney Gardner; sisters, Sharon Miller, Judy Sherer and eight grandchildren; six step grandchildren.
The memorial service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church. There will be no visitation, and Conkle Funeral Home Lynhurst Chapel is handling arrangements.

She was born August 14, 1919 in Crothersville, IN to Alfred A. and Alta Mae (Nichols) Carpenter.
She attended Warren Park Wesleyan Church.
Regina was a homemaker, avid reader, poetry and short story writer, seamstress and gardener.
Regina married Dale L. Freeman December 22, 1939, and he survives, along with her son, Jack (Dawn) Freeman, of Greenwood; daughters, Nyda Frisco, June Bryant, and Gayle Richards, all of Indianapolis; her sister, Phyllis (Richard) Fitzwater, of Bainbridge, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents and by her son Alan Freeman on March 23, 2009.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 31, at Noon at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00AM until service time.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

He was born September 23, 1940 in Bloomington, Indiana to parents Dale Freeman and Regina (Carpenter) Freeman. Other survivors include two daughters, Tracey L. (Albert) West, Rhonda G. Freeman; brother, Jack L. Freeman; three sisters, Nyda Frisco, June Bryant, Gayle Richards; six grandchildren, Carly Ramey, A.J. and Eli West, Sydnie, Tanner and Tim Freeman. He attended Warren Central High School and was employed for 31 years as a truck driver for United Parcel Service. He was a member of Warren Park Wesleyan Church, Amateur Ham Radio Club and the truck drivers Teamster Local 710. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 in Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Southport Chapel, 7520 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gross Cemetery, Whitehall, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the A.L.S. Association of Indiana, 6525 East 82nd Street, #115, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250 or Reason to Ride in care of any Hendricks County Lincoln Bank.

William Owen Carpenter, 84, passed away Wednesday Oct. 8, 2014, at his home in Franklin after a brief illness. Bill was born Aug. 25, 1930, in Indianapolis to Emmett and Elva E. (Owen) Carpenter. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, class of 1948. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean War, and received a Purple Heart. Bill married Martha Truman on July 16, 1949, in Indianapolis. They were married for 65 years. He was employed with Allison Division of General Motors for 39 years as a skilled trades inspector, retiring in 1990.Bill enjoyed living in Florida, where he was a member of the Cypress Gardens Lions Club for more than 20 years and was a past president. He was a member and deacon of Inman Park Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida. He was also a former member and deacon of New Whiteland Baptist Church and a present member of Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin. Bill served his Lord in many ways throughout his life. He was an Indiana University basketball, NASCAR, Indianapolis Colts and Pacers fan and loved bowling in various leagues. He was a certified E.M.T. with the New Whiteland Volunteer Fire Department, serving for more than 20 years. Bill loved spending time with his family and was always busy around the house tinkering with electronic equipment.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Carpenter of Franklin; five children, William Owen (Elizabeth) Carpenter Jr. of Nineveh, Tommy (Ruth Ann) Carpenter and Linda Jones, both of Whiteland, and Michael (Jan) Carpenter and Cathy Carpenter, both of Greenwood; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard E. Carpenter; a sister, Virginia L. Weaver; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church, 1600 Westview Drive, Franklin. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; six daughters, Brenda Landreth of Port Charlotte, Judy Howey, Kathy Dubay, Terry Schramm, Elsie Wolford and Willa Jo, all of Michigan; two sons, Edward and Harold, both of Michigan; a stepson, Gale Pribbernow of Alabama; 19 grandchildren, including Marie Guenett of North Port; and 16 great-grandchildren.
There will be no local services. National Cremation Society, Port Charlotte chapter, is in charge.
