GRAVE: image
Dennis Lester “Denny” Perdew
Birth: 9 Jul 1947 Creston, Union County, Iowa, USA
Death: 16 Mar 2015 (aged 67) East Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA
Burial: Washington Cemetery, Gravity, Taylor County, Iowa, USA
Memorial #: 144437730
Bio:
Celebration of Life Services for Dennis Perdew, age 67 of Conway, who passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa were held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Ritchie Funeral Home in Bedford. Memorials may be directed to the Sharpsburg United Presbyterian Church. Memories may be shared at: www.ritchiefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Bedford.
Dennis (Denny) Lester Perdew was born on July 9, 1947, in Creston, Iowa to son of Leonard Charles Perdew and Marie Evelyn (Jackson) Perdew. He graduated from Clearfield High School with the Class of 1965. He entered into the United States Army in 1966 where he served for two years. In the few years that followed, he married Lurae Straight on June 11, 1971. From this union was born their daughter Ivy Dawn Perdew (Mueller).
In his younger years Denny worked road construction as a heavy equipment operator. Using the skills that he learned working road construction, he started his own business. At the start of the business his two older brothers Odie and Stub Perdew worked alongside him for over a decade. Perdew Construction has been in operation for over 35 years moving dirt for agricultural improvements.
His most enjoyed moments in life were running the yellow bulldozer and moving dirt from sun up to sun down. When people think of Denny Perdew, I believe they’ll think of him as an honest hard working man, and an excellent provider for his family.

He will truly be missed by many new and old friends, family and the community he served.
