Suggestions for daes, places, bio suggestion and parents.
Leroy Preston “Roy” Carpenter was born 13 August 1915 in Queensbury, Warren, New York (see image) and this birth date is supported by his 1940 Draft card which he signed (see image). Census records support the 1915 birth year as does his Social Security Application and the Social Security Death Index which show his correct birth date.
His death certificate has his death as 13 August 1914 and his burial place as Redlands Cemetery as reported by his second wife “Vada.” Sadly, both of these are wrong. His parents were married on 14 May 1914 and “Roy” was born in 1915 as cited above.  Redlands Cemetery is an African-American cemetery and adjacent is Chinquapin Cemetery where his body is confirmed to be residing.
“Roy” married Helen Emma Austin on 10 Mar 1939 in Poultney, Rutland, Vermont and they had children Mike and Dana before they divorced.
Roy then married about 1943 Alice Navada “Vada” Henley. They had John, Patricia, Tom, Mary, David, Preston, Paul and Gloria.
