WILL: Know all men by these prents, that I, Josephine Barton, of the Borough of Oakdale, County of Allegheny, State of Pennsylvania, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking any wills by me at any time heretofore made.
And as to my worldly estate and the property real personal and mixed of which I shall die seized and possessed or which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise, bequeath, and dispose of as in the manner following, to wit:
First, I give and bequeath to my mother Betsey Howe the portion of my my household furniture hereafter named. My long two rockers, three chairs, center table, one large lamp, one carpet, and my parents' paintings, all my silverware, one trunk and contents of same, all my best bed quilts excepting three new ones which I give and bequeath to my friend Mrs. Amanda Heeter, also all my wearing clothes, and two feather beds, and one pair of pillows, and organ.
Second, I give and bequeath to my sister Mrs. Delia Monroe one large picture.
Third, the balance and remainder of my estate real and personal or mixed of which I shall die seized or to which I may be entitled at the time of my death I give and bequeath to my husband William Barton.
Fourth, I appoint my friend Josiah W. Guy executor of this my last will and testament.
In testimony I the said Josephine Barton have to this my last will and testament contained on two sheets of paper and to every sheet thereof subscribed my name and to this the last sheet thereof I have subscribed my name and affixed my seal this Twenty-seventh day of January 1899.

CENSUS: She appears as Betsey Howe, granddaughter, on the 1880 census with her grandparents.DEATH: On her state death certificate (21206) her mother is listed as Delia Howe and her father is listed as "not known." The informant is listed as Mrs. Ross Young, which would be Eleanor Howe, Phidelia's niece. I would think Eleanor would know who the father was unless it was not spoken of -- if, for instance, Betty was born out of wedlock. The Mr. Williamson listed in other family records has no other information given but his last name and I can find no trace of him.
