OBITUARY. Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Monday, June 1, 1998, p 4A. Lilah M. Jackson, 86, of Nottawa and formerly of Athens and Battle Creek died Friday, May 29, 1998, in Three Rivers Area Hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1912, in Athens to Henry R. and Mary Etta (Harmon) Tiffany. She moved with her family to Battle Creek where she attended school. She was a homemaker. She married George Jackson in Angola, Ind., on Dec. 28, 1929. He died in 1969. Surviving are daughters, Mary Perrin of Nottawa, Mildred Sharpe of Coldwater and Margaret Taylor of Mendon; sons, Gordon Jackson of White Pigeon, John Jackson of Bronson, Robert Jackson of Fulton, George Jackson of Sturgis, William Jackson of Phoenix City, Ala., and Richard Jackson of Mendon; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Tiffany, of Sherwood. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alva Tiffany; a sister, Elvah Carr, and grandsons, Bobby Jackson, Michael Jackson, Kenneth Jackson and Charles Schull. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eickhoff Funeral Home, Mendon. Burial: Mendon Cem.. Memorials: Nottawa United Methodist Church.
27 Jul 1998 - a visit to Mendon Twp. Cem. located on M-60, west of Mendon, on the south side of the highway. One marker reads "Jackson" across the top and "George M. 1898-1969" and "Lilah M. 1912-19--. No date has been engraved in the stone, probably because of Lilah's recent death. Nearby is another marker which says, "Our Beloved Son, Kenneth Allen Jackson, Apr 29, 1966 - Feb 10, 1989." Another joint marker is for John M. Jackson 1874-1957 and Mary L. 1882-1963. Another single marker says "Lester W. Jackson, Pvt. U. S. Army, Nov 21, 1902 - May 5, 1974."

Mrs. Carr is the former Elva M. Tiffany and both she and Mr. Carr were Athens area residents until about four years ago. Surviving are the parents; a sister, Linda; the maternal grandfather, Ray Tiffany of Sherwood, and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carr of Jonesville. Rev. Frank Wright officiated at the services and burial was in the Burr Oak Cemetery.
