Stanley Joseph Danilowicz, 42, an inspector at the Eaton Mfg. , a World War II Navy veteran and a local athlete, died unexpectedly early this morning from recurrence of a heart ailment at his home, 140 James St. He had worked yesterday at the local plant where he had been employed since 1940. Mr. Danilowicz was a former member of the United Steel & Wire baseball team; bowled with Eaton teams, and in 1956 was the Eaton golf champion. He was born here, a son of Joseph and Mary (Jachimek) Danilowicz and was married June 5, 1946 to Barbara Bishop who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Edward J., 8, Peter F., aged six months; a brother, Frank, of 291 Katherine St. and a sister, Mary Danilowicz of Grand Rapids. Mr. Danilowicz was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus, Council No. 575; the Disabled American Veterans and the Croatian Fraternal Union.

Pease, 66, of Scotts, and formerly of Union City, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she had wintered for several years. She was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Union City to Ellis and Gladys (Washburn) Lux and had resided in Scotts for 47 years. She was employed as a bookkeeper in the family business, Pease Meat Packing, with her husband. She married Donald W. Pease on June 28, 1951, in Newton Twp.. He survives. Also surviving are sons, David and Thomas Pease of Scotts; daughters, Colleen Ensing of Lebanon, Ohio, and Teresa Logan of Grand Ledge; 10 grandchildren; her mother, Gladys Lux of Marshall; brothers, Leo and Mike Lux; and sisters, Doretha Pease, Sue Heikes, Dorla Nowakowski and Mary Ellen Octavo. Fox, 66, of 2624 11-Mile Road, a former Twp. official, died Tuesday in the Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater. He had been ill seven months and hospitalized three weeks. He was born in Sherwood Twp. and was a lifelong area resident. He served as a Burlington Township Trustee from 1970 to 1978. He was an independent milk hauler for 35 years and also farmed at the 11-Mile Road address. From 1980 to 1985 he was a delegate to the state meetings of the Michigan Livestock Exchange. He was a member of the Burlington Men's Club and the Union City United Methodist Church. Surviviing are his wife, the former Ruth Wood; daughters, Rebecca Johnson of Flint and Cindy Troup of Herington, Kan.; sons, Roger Fox of Ada and Ronald Fox of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren; and a brother, Lyman Fox of Burlington. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home, Union City. Memorial donations may be made to the Union City United Methodist Church or the scholarship fund at Union City High School.

(Fox) Mabus, 63, of 2638 11-Mile Road, Burlington Twp., died Sunday in Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, where she had been a patient one week. She was born in Sherwood Township, Branch County, and resided in the Union City and Burlington areas all her life. She was employed in the dietary department of the Community Health Center of Branch County until retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Union City Methodist Church and also worked in the church thrift shop. She was a member of the Union City Senior Citizens Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Mabus, in 1979, and a daughter, Linda Mabus Germain, in 1970. She is survived by brothers, Lyman and Harold Fox, both of Burlington; and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Jenkins Funeral Home in Union City. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Surviving are his wife, the former Arlene Fox; his father, Guy Mabus of St. Joseph; brothers, Floyd A. and Clinton M. Mabus, both of Battle Creek, and Lloyd G. Mabus of St. Joseph; sisters, Mrs. Charles (Nola) Shine of St. Joseph and Mrs. Gerald (Wanda) Snyder of Phoenix, AZ, and two grandchildren.
