Frances Mignonne Carpenter, 95, of Charlotte NC went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2019.
She is the daughter of the late Hattye Townsend Flatt and Joseph McKenna Flatt.
Mignonne is reunited in passing with her husband, E. Leroy Carpenter; her granddaughter Ashlyn Renee Carpenter and her brothers Donald Flatt and Dale Flatt.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Cheryl Carpenter of Daytona Beach Florida; son and daughter-in-law David Keith and Donna Morris Carpenter of Charlotte; her two grandsons in Charlotte Jonathan Ellsworth and Austin Reed Carpenter.
Mignonne was born in Union City, Tennessee but resided in and around Fulton Kentucky until she graduated from High School.
In 1942 she moved to Jacksonville Florida for better opportunities. After completing business courses at Haddock Business School, she got a Civil Service job at the US Naval Air Station in 1945. She retired from the Publication and Printing Office in 1981 after 37 years of excellent service.
She met Leroy Carpenter in Jacksonville and married him October 21, 1944. They raised their two children in Jacksonville. Mignonne and family were blessed to be a part of their church community at First Baptist Jacksonville since 1942.
After retirement Mignonne and Leroy volunteer weekly at St. Luke’s Hospital, now Mayo Hospital, for 24 years.
Mignonne and Leroy also enjoyed retirement by traveling, visiting family and enjoying membership at First Baptist, NARFE and Club 55+.
Mignonne was also an avid Word Search lover. Mignonne moved to Charlotte NC in 2015 to live with her son and his family. Three years ago, she moved into the Senior Retreat Landsdowne, where she was loved and cared by their safe and residents.
In Charlotte Mignonne enjoyed attending Matthews United Methodist Church and their Seasoned to Perfection group.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 11, 4 pm at Matthews United Memorial Church, 801 S. Trade Street, Matthews NC. A time of family visitation will follow service.
A graveside service will be held on April 15, 11 am at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville FL.

Anise Genevieve Carpenter, 92, of Bunner Ridge Community, formerly of Hopewell Road Community, passed away peacefully Sunday (March 16, 2014) at her residence. She was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late James Ernest and Ella Summers Reese. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Warren “Dickie” Carpenter, who passed away in 1962, and whom she married July 19, 1947. Mrs. Carpenter was a registered nurse with 45 years of service, employed at Fairmont General Hospital and later retiring from the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Clarksburg. She proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II from March 1944 until February 1946 as an Army nurse with the rank of first lieutenant in the 155th General Hospital. She was Methodist by faith. Survivors include her son, William “Bill” Oliver Carpenter and his wife Terry of Fairmont; three daughters, Sharon Hamrick Collins and her husband George, Debra Dunham and her husband Robert, and Kathi Cleavenger Summers, all of Fairmont; her grandchildren, Tommy Insani, Michele Carpenter Zimmerman and her husband Travis, Bill Carpenter Jr. and his wife Mandy, Lary Cleavenger and his wife Erin, and James Summers and his companion Amanda Hawkinberry; stepgrandchildren, Kyle Collins and his companion Tiffany Stevenski, Shane “Buck” Collins and Shelby Rebrook; great-grandchildren, Myles Carpenter and Abigail Zimmerman; and stepgreat-grandchild, Tristan Collins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her six brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth, Chester, Thomas, James and John Reese; and her sister, Florence Stansberry. She was the last surviving child of James Ernest and Ella Summers Reese. The family has entrusted Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, with funeral arrangements. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. An Arden, W.Va. native, she was a Muncie resident most of her life before moving to Florida 12 years ago. She was a member of Clearview Wesleyan Church in St. Petersburg.
Survivors include her husband, Oland R. Weaver; three sons, Ronald W., Richard E., and Dennis E. Weaver, all of Muncie; two daughters, Mrs. Teresa Clark, Muncie, and Mrs. Gernet Wilhite, St. Petersburg; two brothers, Dana Satterfield, Muncie, and Albert Satterfield, Seminole, Fla.; and 16 grandchildren.
The Rev. Carter Dobbs will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Bio: Oland Weaver, 77, former Muncie resident, died Tuesday in his home, St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was born in W.Va., later came to Muncie and moved to Florida in 1967. Mr. Weaver owned and operated Weaver's Garage in Muncie for more than 40 years. He was retired from Warner Gear Division.
He was a former member of East 23rd Street Church of Christ in Christian Union and at the time of his death was a deacon in Clearview Wesleyan Church, St. Petersburg. He belonged to Warner Gear Sympathy Club and was a retired member of United Automobile Workers Local 287.
His wife, Velda Satterfield Weaver, died in 1980.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald W. and Richard E. Weaver, both of Yorktown, and Dennis E. Weaver, Muncie; two daughters, Garnet Wilhite, St. Petersburg, and Teresa Clark, Muncie; three brothers, Don Weaver, Belington, W.Va., Arley Weaver, Parker City, and Birdell Weaver, Muncie; a sister, Dessie Wiseman, McKeesport, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
After services in St. Petersburg, the body will be brought to Parson Mortuary, then burial in Mount Tabor Cemetery.

Ronald W. Weaver passed away on Tuesday at the Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Ronald was born in Muncie and was a graduate of Central High School, a Air Force Veteran and worked for New Venture Gear for 33 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of UAW Local 499 and Avondale Sympathy Club.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Weaver; two sons, Ron Weaver and wife Kathy, Chad Weaver and wife Tricia; one daughter,Mrs.Rhonda Jones; two brothers, Richard Weaver and wife, Carolyn, Dennis Weaver and wife, Judy; two sisters. Jackie was born on June 15, 1946 in Muncie and was the daughter of the late Norwin and Dorothea Pitman Jones. Jackie grew up in Muncie and graduated from Southside High School . She worked at Target and later managed Gas America on East Jackson Street. She loved camping, her grandkids and celebrating Christmas.
Jackie was survived by two sons, Ron Weaver from Muncie, Chad Weaver from Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Mrs. Rhonda Weaver Kenney from Muncie; one half-brother, Richard Mann from Muncie; one half-sister, Mrs. Patricia Reed Gegenheimer from Muncie; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Weaver worked for over 31 years as a Machine Oporator with Borg Warner until his retirement. After retirement Richard continued to work 10 more years delivering automotive parts with Car Quest. He was a member of UAW Local #287, and Borg-Warner Sympathy Club.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Weaver, Yorktown; a son, Richard Weaver, Yorktown; two sisters, Teresa Clark, Yorktown, and Garnet Wilhite, St. Petersburg, Florida; two grandsons, Kevin Pittman, Yorktown, and Bryan Pittman, (wife-Austin), Muncie; two great grandsons, Zaden Pittman, Parker City, and Echo Pittman, Muncie; a mother-in-law, Mary Morris, Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.

Bio: Edwin "Gary" Gerald Satterfield Jr., 75, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 5:20am at Golden Living Center, Sycamore Village. He was born on July 18, 1942 in Muncie to the late Edwin Gerald Satterfield Sr. and Stella (King) Satterfield. He married Bertha (Eiler) Satterfield on September 11, 1967 in Muncie. She preceded him in death.Gary retired after many years working for the Muncie Street Department. He enjoyed watching TV, especially sports and westerns. Gary was close to his grandchildren and loved them very much.

Bio: Sherman E. Satterfield, 75, 3410 Oaklyn, died Friday in Ball Hospital after becoming ill while working in his yard.A native of Arden, W.Va., Mr. Satterfield was a resident of Muncie most of his life. He was a graduate of Central High School. He retired in February after 33 years with the Indiana Bell Telephone Company, six of which were spent as a supervisor to the South Bend area.
A member of Delaware Lodge 46, F&AM, and the Telephone Pioneers of America, he served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Katie; three sons, Steve of Muncie, Dave of Union City, Ohio, and Jerrol of Mishawaka; one sister, Mrs. Velda Weaver of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, Gerald and Dana, both of Muncie, and Albert of Largo; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Parson Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeffery G. Snider, pastor of the Normal City United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and immediately before services on Monday. Masonic memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Bio: Kathleen (Katie) M. Satterfield, 84, passed away early Friday afternoon at the Lynd House Senior Center following a brief illness. She was born in Muncie, the daughter of Glenn E. and Gladys (Bradburn) Richman.She is a 1943 graduate of Burris High School. Kathleen married the love of her life, Sherman E. Satterfield, in 1946 at Muncie, and he preceded her in death in 1979.
Mrs. Satterfield enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, and a homemaker. Family times were very important to her. She is a former member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie 231 of Muncie, enjoyed gardening and loved to skate in her younger days at the Kaler's Skating Rink.
Survivors include her two sons, Jerry Satterfield (wife-Charlotte), Mishawaka, and Steven K. Satterfield (wife-Brenda), Gaston; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 33 years, Sherman, she is preceded in death by one son, David Satterfield; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle; two sisters, Gleda Reasoner and Alice Turner; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at the Parson Mortuary with Rev. John Malzahn officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Embrace Hospice, Muncie, of the Alzheimers Association, 50 E. 91st St., Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman E. Satterfield.
At David's request, cremation will take place and a private committal for family members will take place in Elm Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Parson Mortuary.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Simon A. Tennant; her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Diane Tennant of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Tammy Ends of Parsons, Christopher Watson of Cumberland, Maryland and Amanda Watson of Norfolk, Virginia and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Pride and Deloris White and her brother, William Pride.
Friends may call at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street. The funeral service will be Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Zinn and Pastor Tom Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

He volunteered for over 25 years at the Fairmont Marion County Food Pantry. He enjoyed working on his farm and garden. He also enjoyed going to the East Side McDonalds to visit with his friends. He attended many of the Alcan retiree functions.
In addition to his parents, Simon was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 66 years, Marjorie Pride Tennant; his sisters, Violet, Veda and Virginia in infancy and a brother, Donald Ross Tennant.
He is survived by his son, Mark and his wife Diane of Fairmont ; a brother, William and his wife Helen of Barrackville; a sister-in-law, Doris Carpenter of Fairmont; step grandchildren, Tammy Ashby and her husband, Greg of Thomas, Christopher Watson of Cumberland, Maryland and Amanda Watson of Norfolk, Virginia; step great grandchildren, Julian Watson, Zach Ends and his wife Destinee, Brittan Ends and his wife Amanda, Nick Ends, Lalah Ends, Xzandra Ashby and Travis Ashby and many beloved nieces and nephews along with his precious cat, Cali.

He is survived by his son, Mark and his wife Diane of Fairmont ; a brother, William and his wife Helen of Barrackville; a sister-in-law, Doris Carpenter of Fairmont; step grandchildren, Tammy Ashby and her husband, Greg of Thomas, Christopher Watson of Cumberland, Maryland and Amanda Watson of Norfolk, Virginia; step great grandchildren, Julian Watson, Zach Ends and his wife Destinee, Brittan Ends and his wife Amanda, Nick Ends, Lalah Ends, Xzandra Ashby and Travis Ashby and many beloved nieces and nephews along with his precious cat, Cali.
Friends and family may call at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Tuesday from 1pm to 8pm and on Wednesday from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will be at 11am on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Shepherd officiating.
Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.

Franklin Paul Roberts "Postman," 72, of Robinson Run, Rivesville, passed away Sunday (Sept. 8, 2013) at his home. He was born June 6, 1941, in Fairview, son of the late Elias Andrew and Donnie Mae (Parker) Roberts. Frank was a member of the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ and the Fairview Lions Club. He was formerly employed by Owens-Illinois and retired from the Teamsters as a truck driver. He also delivered papers for The Dominion Post and was the C.O.R. for Cub Scouts Pack 22 in Fairview.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Cottrell Snyder Roberts; one son, Michael Paul Roberts and wife Loni of Brookville, Ohio; three brothers, John Roberts and wife Judy of Fairview, Jim Roberts and wife Coleen of Attica, Mich., and Kyle Roberts and wife Debbie of Montecello, Ky.; two sisters, Jean Lemasters and Donnie Kay Roberts, both of Fairview; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Deloris Pride White; and two sisters, Allie Roberts and Ora Sharon Inness.

Nolan Fay Carpenter, 79, of Fairmont, Grassy Run Community, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.He was born in Marion County on January 31, 1936 a son of the late Virgil David Carpenter and Laura "Gladys" (Vincent) Carpenter.
Nolan retired from the Marion County Transit Authority after 17 years of service as a bus driver. Prior to that he had worked at Sharon Steel until it's closing and Hawkins Service Station.
He was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and attended the Meadowdale Wesleyan Church. He was also an active member of the Marion County Senior Citizens and the Smithtown Community Center. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Doris Jean (Pride) Carpenter; his son, Kevin David Carpenter of Charles Town; four very special grandchildren, Briana Carpenter, Matthew Carpenter, Zachary Carpenter and Elijah Carpenter; nieces and nephews, Mike and Loni Roberts, Dennis and Darlene Pride, Mark and Diane Tennant; several cousins and a family friend, Gloria Corley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Leigh Ann Carpenter and his brother Encil Carpenter and his wife Marie, formerly of Ohio.
Friends and family may call at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Streel, Fairmont on Monday from 2pm to 8pm and on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Steele and Pastor Timothy Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Bio: Gladys Rosalind Meredith Roach, 95, of Fairmont, passed away Saturday morning (Aug. 15, 2009) at Fairmont General Hospital.She was born Oct. 29, 1913, at St. George in Tucker County, the only child of the late Aldine Charles Auvil and Lenny Sponaugle Auvil.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard W. Meredith, and her second husband, Letcher G. Roach.Mrs. Roach was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother. She had owned and operated Meredith's Amoco and Lunch Room in Meadowdale for several years until the death of her first husband. She later worked at Jo's Pastries and retired from Myers Cut-rate in Fairmont. She was proud to be a descendant of the Walton family of Virginia. In her later years, she enjoyed the companionship of her beloved dog, Buddy.She is survived by two sons, Robert H. Meredith and his wife Aleda of Fairmont and Donald R. Robert “Bob” Howard Meredith, 76, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was born July 12, 1944, a son of the late Howard Meredith and Gladys Auvil Meredith.Robert was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, racing, car shows, and the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction.
Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Aleda Meredith; children, Tammie Pinson and her husband Jerry, and Robert “Bobby” Meredith and his wife Tracy; four grandchildren, Tony Meredith, Logan Meredith and his wife September, Joshua Malott and his fiancée Carrie, and Justin Malott and his wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Mila Sue Malott and Alexander Meredith; and step grandchildren, Emma, Michael, and Calvin; a brother, Donald Meredith and his wife Rebecca; and several nieces.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his in-laws, Lewis and Wilma Runion.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rob Bennett officiating.
