WOOSTER -- Victor William Carpenter, 57, of East Moreland Road, diedMonday, Feb. 5, 2001, in Lewisburg, Tenn., while returning home from atrip to the western U.S.

He was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Canton, to William Lawson and MarieBeatrice (Steiner) Carpenter.

Surviving are his wife, Gladys Elaine Hollingshead Carpenter ofWooster; two sons, Steven Carpenter of Doylestown and John Carpenterof Texas and a stepson, David Vermillion of Fallon, Nev.

Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home in Lewisburg, Tenn., handled arrangementsin Tennessee.
