NAME: SHe was a widow - She had married a Welch and was known by the name on the Windsor Journal.

He was of Coyeman's, Columbia county.
This descendant line is from Cheri Nolan who submitted it as a querry in July
1999. "The following information is from the Bible of Julia Smith Davis and in
the possession of Paul Davis, Erie, PA. The information was there, but not the
relationships. I sent for death certificates and through them and was able to
determine who the parents of Julia's mother, Charity Carpenter was. From
there, I took the e first wife and her children, then who was the second wife
and her children. I determined Elizabeth's first husband was from the Bible
records." Per Cheri Nolan.
Died aged 49 years. See 1850 Census Mortality Schedule which lists him dying in Feb 1850. He was a merchant and I can not read his cause of death clearly. "In Liver" is the close as I can get.

at North Castle, Westchester county, NY. He purchased a large farm there of
161 acres. Shortly after Morri's wife died he remarried. He sold his farm and
moved to his new wife's farm where he continued until his death.On Nov. 25, 1826, Jacob Smith, son in law to Morris (husband of Elizabeth) was
appointed administrator of his estate. Westchester Wills, Vol. D, p. 209.
Morri's farm was sold for $4,000 and proceeds were divided among his seven

Jesse Coles was a soldier in the Revolution and was taken prisoner while
carrying a message to General Washington. He was confined many months
in the prision ship at the Wallabout. Jesse was also one of the first
Methodist classleaders at Musketa Cove.
Deborah and her husband removed to Greensburgh, Westchester county and they had
a large family. Jesse bought his farm, about 1 1/2 miles east of Tarrytown,
from Aaron Burr on 2 July 1791. Joseph Coles was Jesse's executor in the will.BIRTH: in Queens county because Nassau county was created in 1898.
Family Legend says that just before Deborah died she made her husband promise
to marry Freelove, whose husband had died twenty years prior.MARRIAGE: Mariage certificate dated 20 March 1781, and they were married a few

the first grist mill there. SEE: History of Herkimer County.

Other Information: Per Herbert Hale, Town Historian, 1961: 'Located between Littleworth Lane and Franklin Ave., west of the School, in Sea Cliff, entrance from Brengel Place. 'The cemetery used by the Carpenter family whose ancestors were the original purchasers of the Mosketo Cove Patent. The cemetery was laid out in 1855 and the first headstone is dated 1861. For a short time the cemetery was under the control of the Carpenter Memorial Church of Glen Cove, but returned to the control of the Carpenter family. It is still in use...' - subquote from Guide to Historic Tour, Diamond Jubilee of Sea Cliff (1958). Hale notes: 'from the transcript below (burials), the dates given in this statement must be erroneous. Copied by Hale Nov 1, 1961.'

DEATH:Burial Grounds attached to the Searingtown Methodist Episcopal Church
is a memorial stone erected to Freelove and John Searing. By a curious
mistake, no mention is made that "Freelove Coles" was the wife first of Rev.
John Searing, by whose side she sleeps, then Jesse Coles of Tarrytown.
The grave stones are close to the easterly side on the church. They read:
Rev. John Searing died Oct. 29, 1815 aged 46 years AND
Freelove Coles died Oct. 17, 1843 aged 69 years.
