DEATH: Richard E. YOUNG, 89, of Ulysses, PA, died Monday, May 16, 2022 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born July 20, 1932, in Newfield, Ulysses Township, he was the son of Ross Young and Eleanor Howe Ramsey.  On September 4, 1954, in Burlington, VT, he married the former Helen Corrine Bombard Young, who predeceased him on September 12, 2015.  He was a 1950 graduate of Ulysses High School. A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably with the US Air Force from 1951 – 1961.  He was employed by Dresser-Rand in Wellsville for 32 years.  Dick was a member of the Gold Church, Friendship Lodge #24, F.&A.M., Charlotte, VT, Coudersport Consistory, and served with the Potter County Civil Air Patrol.  In the 1960’s and 1970’s, he was an ambulance driver for the Tri-Town Volunteer Ambulance in Ulysses.
Surviving are:  four children, Richard E. “Ric” (Ruby) Young, Jr. of Monterey, TN, Robert B. (Wendy) Young of Essex, VT, Robin (David) Freeman and Cristy “Sam” (Roger) Jeffers, both of Ulysses;  eight grandchildren, Sarah Izzo, Benjamin Young, Lacey Young, Aimee Vallieres, Alicia Freeman, Alaina Freeman, Sydnee Slocum, and Blake Jeffers;  eight great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Allison, Anna, Madison, Dominic, Braden, Zoe, and Hadlee;nieces and nephews, including special niece, Donna Powell.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond Young, John Ted Young, and Harold Jack Young;  a sister, Patricia Conable;  his step-father, Jack Ramsey;  and his step-mother, Vera Hanes Young.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1019 Gazdag Road, Ulysses, PA.  Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.

DEATH: Helen Corrine YOUNG, 84, of Ulysses, PA, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 in her home. Born August 1, 1931, in Burlington, VT, she was the daughter of Louis and Merilda Duell Bombard. On September 4, 1954, in Burlington, VT, she married Richard E. Young, who survives. She was a homemaker and stay at home mom for most of her married life, making the best meals and baked goods, especially homemade bread and doughnuts. Her and Dick's home was very often a second home to numerous friends of their children. When her family was older, she went to work at the Burger Hut in Ulysses and later Cowburn's Market and Brennan's Market in Ulysses until her retirement. Helen could always be found at any and all sports and extracurricular activities that her children and grandchildren were involved in, usually accompanied by her best friend, Fanny Scott. She attended the Gold Church and made "special treats" for the children that were enjoyed after the children's message. Her granddogs, Leo, Kaine, and Sparky, lived close by and loved to visit to get a cheese treat from their Grandma Helen. Helen was a lifelong card player with family and friends. Surviving besides her husband, Richard, are: four children, Richard E. "Ric" (Ruby) Young, Jr. of Monterey, TN, Robert B. (Wendy) Young of Essex, VT, Robin (David) Freeman and Cristy "Sam" (Roger) Jeffers, both of Ulysses; eight grandchildren, Sarah Izzo, Benjamin Young, Lacey Young, Aimee Vallieres, Alicia Freeman, Alaina Freeman, Sydnee Jeffers, and Blake Jeffers; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Allison, Anna, Madison, Dominic, and Braden; three brothers, Louis "Sonny" Bombard, Jr., Paul (Linda) Bombard, and David (Dawn) Bombard, all of Burlington, VT; two sisters, Marie "Mert" Rouille of Littleton, MA and May Hoover of Harrisville, WV; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Harold Bombard; and four sisters, Dorothy Fortin, Catherine Roussin, Barbara Rose LaFountain, and Mary Lou Kane. Friends may call Friday, September 18, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday in the Gold Church, 2402 SR 49 W, Gold, PA. The Rev. Frank Mickle, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. DEATH: James H. “Jim” SNYDER, 74, of Genesee, PA, died Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.

Born June 21, 1943, in Genesee, he was the son of Hiram and Lucene G. Dunn Snyder.

A 1961 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he was the owner of Jim’s Joy Farm Registered Holsteins from 1961 – 1968.  He was employed by the Dept. of Forests and Waters, PA Dept. of Highways, Wellsville Button Factory, Current Controls in Wellsville, Otis Eastern, Genesee Hardware, and retired from Dresser-Rand, Wellsville, NY in 2006 after over 38 years.

Jim served as an officer of Local 1580 I.A.M., as a shop steward, and a member of Moose Lodge #601 in Wellsville.  He served as a Genesee Township Supervisor and as vice-president and president of the Genesee Park and Recreation Board.  Jim enjoyed country music, NASCAR and local racing, and the greatest friendship of animals, especially his dog and best friend, Cuddles.

Surviving are:  two step-daughters, Linda Grover and Diane Marsden;  step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren;  a half-brother, Harold Earl Snyder;  and the love of his life, Julie Morsman.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two half-brothers, Austin Snyder and Robert Snyder;  and a half-sister, Bernice “Peg” Woolley.

Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, April 30, 2018 in the Solid Rock Bible Church, Hickox, PA.  The Rev. Mel Ternes will officiate.  Burial will be in Genesee Cemetery.

DEATH: Lyle C. Kelly
PERRY – A memorial service was held in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Perry for Lyle C. Kelly, 57, of 5262 Route 20A, who died October 30, 1984 in the Wyoming County Community Hospital following a long illness.
A lifetime area resident, Mr. Kelly was the president of the Prospect Hill Cemetery Association and was a former member of the Perry Center Fire Department.
Survivors are his wife Joyce Anderson Kelly; one daughter Colleen Kelly of Warsaw; two sons, Richard and David of Perry; and two brothers, Donald and Roger of Perry Center.
Burial was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
