Gary was born Oct 6, 1948, son of Pauline "Polly" Hill Carpenter Ferguson and the late Wilbert Lee Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Carpenter.Gary was the husband of Deborah Beck Carpenter.

Mrs. Penny C. Biddix, 46, went home on Saturday the 28th of January, 2017 in Newnan, Ga. She was born in Cabarrus County, NC on July the 19th, 1970. She was a child nutrition assistant with Union County Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her father Mr. Ray Eugene Carpenter, Sr.
She smiled without fear of the future.She is survived by her husband Mr. Edward Biddix of Marshville. Two sons: Mr. Anthony Carpenter and his wife Brye Carpenter and Mr. Christopher Carpenter and his wife Kayla all of Marshville. Her mother Mrs. Dale M. Carpenter of Marshville. Two grandchildren: Lillian Carpenter and Samson Carpenter. Two brothers: Mr. Ray Carpenter Jr., and Terry Carpenter both of Mt. Pleasant, NC.
