MORE: (Feb 2020)
Hiram death Certificate is where I 1st found NATHAN MILLINGTON CARPENTER and my CARPENTER connection. And the rest is history!
My first Revolutionary War Patriot DAR National No. 836226, WILLIAM TITUS 1751-1811, is Cora’s Adelia Tarr 3rd great- grandfather.
My William Titus line goes back to John Titus who married Abigail Carpenter sister of Joseph Carpenter of my Carpenter line.
Also Cora’s direct line goes back though Stephen Ford Tarr, several generation of Delano’s to Phillip” Fortune” 1621, Edward Doty, to John Alden, Priscilla and her father William Mullins of the “Mayflower “ 1620. All approved by the Mayflower Society .
If you have questions, will try to answer. ;o)

Mortuary says an old miner, 1st man to introduce Chinese labor in to Colorado. Buried yesterday, family of 4 children, destitute. In the summer of '53 he started for the gold fields of California and Colorado, and spent several adventurous years when only eighteen, having two narrow escapes with his life from cold and in crossing streams. Returning, he studied law in this place and was admitted to the bar, but returned to Colorado, opening mines at Central City, where he conducted extensive works known throughout that region as the Cameron mines. Six years since he made a trip to California, bringing back with him a number of Chinamen to work his mines, the first that were brought into Colorado. Two years since he moved with his family to Deadwood, near which place he has claims comprising six hundred acres of mining grounds, upon which he resided at the time of his death. The value of these depends upon their development and the pay when properly worked. He was a man of generous impulses and extensive enterprises, which he frequently found he was unable to execute. -Cedar Falls Gazette
