Margot's the Bride the Sun Shone On
Image -  Pretty Margot McNair Fairchild, who became the bride of Charles Whitney Carpenter 2d of St. John’s of Lattingtown Church.
By NANCY RANDOI.PH
And all day long the weather remained a very good boy. Benediction beamed down on day's bevy of June brides from heaven as blue as a great blue friendly eye. Beamed over serene Locust Valley when Margot McNair Fairchild donned ivory satin and heirloom rose point late to marry Charles Whitney Carpenter 2nd.
...
Top Drawer Production.
Positively in the "production" class was the beautiful wedding at St. John's of I.attingtown Church when Margot, the daughter of Mrs. William S. Fairchild of 6 E. 79th St. and "Northway," Locust Valley took her vows.
From a pew, as the procession paned was heard a whispered wish that the ceremony performed by Dr. Rushmore Sloane might have preserved for posterity in Technicolor:  the bride in her grand mother’s Elvira Gould creamy tire which made both rd anditIllahtIC off -the-shoulder bertha, •nd with her crisp modern Imonpiet of white orchids and bou-i-ardia; the matron of honor, the route's sister Mr.. Fairchild (Mier) Spalding in lime green. She once ore that same ancestral lace, in--Mentally. when she married Jesse ipabling --whom she recently ell-forced. Yesterday she had a green idle hat and carried a sheaf of %Glean daisies. as did all the vellow gowned attendants of the bride.
Granddad gave Margo Away.
Margot was given in marriage at 4:30 P. M. ceremony by her grandfather William McNair. Edward N. Carpenter was best man for his brother, who served a. second lieutenant in the 303rd Cavavlry. Both are the sons of Mrs. Dorothy M. Carpenter of Hampshire House and George W. Carpenter of 812 Park Ave.
