Isaac "William" Isham
Birth: Feb 1838 Michigan, USA
Death: 10 Apr 1882 (aged 44) Jackson County, Michigan, USA
Burial: Walker Cemetery, Rives Junction, Jackson County, Michigan, USA
Memorial #: 17871961
Bio:
Son of Augustus & Jemima (?) Isham, according to his death record. The 1850/60 censuses list Augustus & Diana. Possibly a 2nd wife after passing of 1st, or a discrepancy in indexing on either of the records.

Marriage to Phoebe "Jerusha" Fox in Michigan, between 1861-1864. They had 3 children, all of which outlived them (Floyd-1865, Jennie-1868, Berkeley-1876)

As for his birth, he was 12 on the 1850 census, and an AGI record also lists 1838. His death record lists 42 years, 1 month & 21 days. That would put his birth on February 17, 1840. His headstone lists 41 years, 1 month & 23 days, that would put his birth on February 15, 1841.

Based on all of this information, I believe February 1838 to be the most accurate. (see 1850 census)

Death: 25 Oct 1936 (aged 60) Putnam Township, Livingston County, Michigan, USA

Memorial #: 185941772
Bio: George  Berkley Isham was the son of William & Phoebe “Jerusha” (Fox) Isham.
The only record that I have that includes an actual signature shows his first name spelled Berkley, although other records show various phoenetic spellings. The death record shows Berkeley, which is likely what was used for the grave marker spelling. The undertaker, Mr. (C?) H. Swartout was a distant relative by marriage. I have found many errors in death records written by him. Although the Swartouts had a reputation for having big hearts, apparently there weren't the best record keepers.

George Berkley married Mabel Irene Fish on October 28, 1908 in Linden, Genesee, Michigan. They had 5 known children (Forrest, Bernice, Joyce, Paul, & Betty)
