Janice K. Carpenter, 60, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Mount Pleasant. She was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Alma, to Alton and lvladolyn Pinkston Moon. She married Edgar Carpenter on Sept. 26, 1970, in Mount Pleasant.
She was the church secretary at Shepherd United Methodist
Church. Prior to that she worked as a lab technician at
Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mount Pleasant for
25 years. She was a member of Shepherd United Methodist
Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar in 2001; father, Alton Moon; three infant sisters, Lois, Judy and Joyce; stepdaughter, LaVonne Poling; and stepgranddaughter, Darcey Denman. She is survived by her mother, Madolyn Moon of Stanton; brother, Norman and Janice
Moon of Stanton; six stepchildren, Beverly and Bernie
Denman of Alma, Geraldine and Glen Williams of Goshen, Ind., Judy and Larry Boursaw of Mount Pleasant, Linda and
Ronald Simonovic of Alma, Herbert and Sharon Carpenter
of Etna Green, Ind., Danny and Dixie Fockler of Howard City; 25 grandchildren, 26 greatgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Janice has been cremated
according to her wishes. Memorial services are 11 a.m.
Thursday at Berry Funeral Home, Shepherd, with the Rev.
Don Spachman officiating. Interment is in New Haven
Cemetery Gratiot County. Memorials may be given to Shepherd United Methodist Church.
