Jimmy was a son of Susan (Abrams) and James Kinslow Simmons. He and his 5 siblings were born at Osceola, Michigan, where his father had been a miner. At an early age, Jimmy and his family moved to Globe, Arizona, where his father mined for copper. In about 1920, the family moved to the Fresno area, eventually settling at Sanger where they became grape farmers. Jimmy married Viola Carpenter. They had no children. Jimmy was survived by his wife and numerous nieces and nephews who loved his kind and gentle ways and sense of humor.

I have stumbled upon your Carpenter Cousins website while researching my 2x Great Grandfather Dryden Henderson Carpenter.
I noticed you do not have the full set of children for him. I only see his children by Louisa Wildermuth. He was married 2 more times. His last wife, Amie Geishirt, was my 2x Great Grandmother.

Thank you for your reply! It is my understanding that Dryden was a bit “hard to live with”. It appears he may have been a traveling salesman at the time of his death; selling fruit trees. My autosomal dna results produced a cousin named Myra Lindgren. Myra is a descendant of Dryden and Louisa Wildermuth. I see you found some of her items in your research.
Everyone is uncertain as to whether or not Dryden was married 3 or 4 times. We know that Amie and he were living together, and having children together before they were married. Because of that, it is commonly believed the Amy on the 1910 census is our Amie.
I have more on the other descendants of Dryden, but for now I will just send you my line.
Dryden married Amie Caroline Geishirt on 4/21/1917. Amie was born 5/16/1888 in Rockford Illinois to Johann Adam Geishirt and Minnie C. ???. She died on 3/3/1961.
Dryden and Amie had the following Children.
