28134. Ai Carpenter

Number 687-5 in the Timothy Carpenter book.
Ai, sometimes referred to as "A.I.", was, according to himself, name Ai after
his mother wanted to name him Aaron Isaiah and his father disapproved.  Thus,
they settle for Ai.  The compiler (of the above record) has come across the
name "Ai" in numerous old records of the Friends Sect.  It also is the name of
a Biblical site.  There is a school named after Ai Carpenter in Wexford Twp.,
MI.

Hello John,
A while back I made a note that my husband's mothers parents weren't listed
in the family genealogy.  Florence (Motter) Carpenters parents were Oscar
Motter and Effie Gladys Mayne.  Also Ronald's brothers Rodney & Lindy were
born in Granite Falls, WA.  Rodney was married in Granite Falls and Lindy was
married in Everett.
Also I noted that there was no marriage date for Ronald's grandparents, Ai &
Adeline (or Addie).  I have their marriage certificate and it has July 26,
l903.  Thank you again.  I'm sorry that I overlooked this earlier.
Sincerely,  Janice Carpenter.

Of all the "old Carpenters" the compiler (of the T.C. book) met during many
years of research, "Hettie" would be in the forefront.  She had great charisma

correct spelling of her mother's name -- MARIAH with the "H" -- be carried down
for posterity.
