Thanks.
The last of my known Carpenter cousins are/were Thornton Chard Carpenter (cousin Tony) b. 29 Apr 1941 . . . married several times but never sired any children . . . and George Benjamin Carpenter b. 4 Apr 1947 d. 20 Jun 2013 . . . married twice but never sired any children. They are the sons of George Benjamin Carpenter b. 2 Aug 1902 d. 2 Jul 1961 (younger brother of my grandmother, who I remember vaguely as an old man . . . I think I was probably about 5) and Beatrice Barcley Chard 18 Nov 1909 - 8 Jan 1958. Since they were my mother's first cousins, there was some discussion about whether George would come live with us when his parents died when he was so young, but he ended up living with much older cousins (Manierres) who lived down the street from us on 69th street in NYC.
My grandmother was Katherine Snow Carpenter who was George Albert Carpenter's daughter . . . from the wedding notice where I first saw Augustus Carpenter Jr. She married Edward John Bermingham II and had 4 children, the third of which was my mother Harriet Isham Bermingham. My mother married Robert Ernst Carroll, hence my Carroll last name. I married Lloyd Austin Patterson, but did not take on his last name, and have 2 sons, neither of whom have the Carpenter name.
Let me know if you need more from my branch of the family. I believe that one of my cousins still bears Carpenter as a middle name.
Judith
