He served with the U.S. Marines.

CHARLES R. MCNEAL
Charles R. McNeal, 95, of Marion, formerly of Delaware and Magnetic
Springs, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at the Arbors of Delaware.
He was retired from Tecumseh in Marion, was a lifetime member of the
Marion Gas and Steam Association and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran
Church in Prospect, the Prospect Senior Citizens, U.A.W. Retirees Local
750, Huber machinery Museum, Marion County Historical Society, Marion
Community Action Center and the Delaware County Pioneers. He enjoyed his
retirement at various campgrounds, doing his blacksmithing.
He was born March 25, 1908, in Prospect and was predeceased by a son,
Robert; four grandchildren, Joy, Jerry, Linda and Nancy; and his wife
Starling Hendrickson McNeal.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Scheeder of Delaware; two sons,
Harold (Mary) of Marysville and James (Donna) of Delaware;
grandchildren, Larry Scheeder, Susan McBride, John McNeal, Patti Bach,
Peggy Hoffman, Rob McNeal, Kathy Johnson, Dianne Morrison and Charlie
McNeal; 11 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and
step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta (Jack) Miller of Florida;
and a daughter-in-law, Rosella McNeal of Delaware.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gehm-Ballinger
Funeral Home in Prospect. The Rev. Joe Schrock will officiate and burial
will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m.

Starling A. McNeal, 72, of Marion, formerly of Delaware and Magnetic Springs, died Saturday morning at the Maple Wood Nursing Center, Marion, after a long illness.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Prospect, the Prospect Senior Citizens, and Marion Steam and Gas Engine Association.
Surviving are her husband, Charles R.; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Scheeder, 127 Troy Rd.; three sons, Robert, Delaware, Harold, Marysville, and James, Fairborn; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a half brother, Robert Morrow, Richwood.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gehm Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect, where services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Monty Kaufman officiating.
