Kenneth was born June 25, 1898 in the small town of Fontanelle, Nebraska to Elmer and Catherine (Miller) Carpenter.On February 14, 1942, this blue-eyed, blonde young man walked into the World War II Draft board in Scranton, PA. He was working for the Keyser Valley Railroad Shops in Scranton, though his employer was D.L. & W. Railroad out of New York City. The clerk noted that Kenneth was 6'1", weighed 202 lbs. Kenneth was not drafted.

KENNETH CARPENTER DIED IN PENN.
Kenneth H. Carpenter, a former resident of Fontanelle, Nebraska, died at Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he was buried.
His widow, the former Barbara Ratekin, also a former resident of Fontanelle, survives. A sister, Mrs. Lynn Keim, lives in Valley, Nebraska.
According to his death certificate, he passed away from metastatic carcinoma of the stomach, 6 months from when it was discovered.
His usual occupation was Superintendent of the Car Department.
