Funeral services for Lyle W. Carpenter, 76, of 9 Isabelle Street, Massena, were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Massena.Mr. Carpenter died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 1988. He was pronounced dead on arrival to the Massena Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Alreata; three sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Thelma) Brown, of Phoenix, AZ, Mrs. Robert (Winona) White of Potsdam, Mrs. Albert (Iona) Ames of Norwood; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
He was born October 12, 1911 in Ellenburg Center, son of William and Blanche Gale Carpenter. He attended school in Norwood and later attended electrical school.
He married Alreata McDonald August 15, 1936 at the Massena Episcopal Rectory.
Mr. Carpenter was a member of the Massena Moose Lodge 1110 and the Sacred Heart Church in Massena.
