GEORGETOWN, Pa. - Donald S. Carpenter, 70, of Georgetown (Green Township), Pa., died Thursday morning, Nov. 25, 2010, in Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born Oct. 28, 1940, in Racine, Ohio, he was a son of Margaret Hayman Carpenter, of Stratton, and the late Sidney Carpenter.

He was a retired systems operator for BOC Gases, Newell. He liked tinkering with his tractors and enjoyed going to the Roger's sales.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, S. Jean Moore Carpenter. The couple would have celebrated 37 years of marriage on Dec. 14, 2010. Also surviving are his children and their spouses, Norman and his wife Shawn Carpenter, East Palestine, Mark and his wife Susan Carpenter, Mesa, Ariz., Chad and his wife April Carpenter, Georgetown; a stepson, Duane and Marilyn Boyd, Newell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David (Karen) Carpenter, Calcutta, and Ronald (Nina) Carpenter, Columbiana; three grandchildren, Steven Carpenter, Mesa, Ariz., Robby and Noah Carpenter, Georgetown; seven step-grandchildren, Christy Holly, Georgetown, Jamie Seidler, East Palestine, Jimmy Seidler, Lisbon, Gregory Rose, McKinleyville, Calif., Brenda Rose, Mesa, Ariz., Briana Boyd, Lawrence, Pa., and Jimmy Boyd, Newell; and three step-great-grandchildren survive.
