NOTE:
Oswego County, NY was created in 1816 from Oneida and Onondaga counties. Jefferson County was formed in 1805 from Oneida and is just to the north of Oswego County.
There is a town of Mexico and Mexico Village located within the town of Mexico. But that was not always the case.
The first Mexico (a proposed county), with all the surrounding towns, was originally created from [[Whitestown, New York|Town of Whitestown]], [[Herkimer County, New York]], on April 10, 1792 by the State Land Commissioner. It was to include present day Oswego and Jefferson Counties. The original organization of the proposed Mexico County) and a town of that name was abandoned for a time. In December of 1794, George Frederick William Augustus Scriba purchased and patented a large tract of land; subsequently becoming a second Mexico, hence the Village of Mexico and the Town of Mexico.

It seems clear if our subject born 1819/1820 was born in town or village of second Mexico (cited above) in Oswego County.

With growth disease was prevalent. Between 1812 and 1820 a cholera-like disease spread throughout the region, a fatal form of dysentery, as well as ague and bilious fevers. More than one-half of the settlers lost their lives to these scourges during the first 20 years of the settlement.
For the baby AC to retain and identify as a Carpenter, he was likely placed with a Carpenter relative.

About 15 Mar 1913 Watertown, Codington, ND - need proof!
According to research I and a couple of cousins have done, AC died about 1915 in Codington (Covington?) SD and was buried in a Potters field. I believe that it was direct communication with people in SD, maybe even the nursing home he was in. I'd have to look. Alonzo B faked me out once, also.
