References: <<32.377382a8.2bd4b3ce@aol.com>>Hi John and Sue,
I haven't found your Carpenter's given names in the limited information I
have? but sense they were from Herkimer County, there sure could be a
connection? do you have more inf?
John,
my Nathan Millington Carpenter born 1818 in Herkimer, was living with the
Clark Horner? family on the 1850, Van Buren Twp., Wayne CO MI. Census, as a
farmer,
Next found in 1860 Spring Arbor Twp. Jackson County, MI. where my great
Grandfather Hiram C. Carpenter was born in 1856,.
1870 found them in Newton Twp. Buchanan CO. IA. 1880 until death found
them in to New Boston Twp. Mercer CO. IL.
Hiram C. Carpenter married Cora A. Tarr in 1884, I found Hiram C. in Newton
Twp. Harvey CO. Kansas in 1885 & 1895, 1900-1945 Found Hiram C. in
Princeton, Ohio Twp. Franklin CO. Kansas,. Which is about 20 miles east of
Baldwin, Douglas CO. KS.?
Are there any Carpenters living in Douglas County Now?
I will keep checking?Iris,

Birth: 26 Feb 1863 Jackson County, Michigan, USA
Death: 14 Aug 1930 (aged 67) Davenport, Scott County, Iowa, USA
Burial: Mannon Cemetery, Mannon, Mercer County, Illinois, USA
Memorial #: 178718829
Bio: Nora died at St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport, Iowa. The information on the death certificate is incorrect. Nora's father was Nathan Carpenter. Hiram was her brother. She was born in Jackson County, Michigan not Millersburg and not buried in Aledo Cemetery. The family lived in Michigan before moving to Mercer County, Illinois. This is documented. Nora was married to Aaron Day Reeves. Aaron died in an accident at Townsleys Brickyard in Aledo in August 1891. They had two small children Fred and Nellie. A third child Aarona Mable was born 6 weeks after the accident in September of 1891. In 1894, she married Arthur Sweet. They had two children: Leonard died in infancy and Orville. Also, Nora had two other children not sure of birthdates. This is listed on the 1900 census. Not sure if the children were Aaron's or Arthur's. Arthur and Nora divorced. Nora went to work for a Mr. Young in Aledo, Illinois until he passed away. At her death, Nora lived in and owned her home in Aledo. Murphy Funeral Home in Aledo, Illinois handled the arrangements. Any information about the two missing children who died in infancy please contact the Find A Grave contributor. The death year is different on the Tombstone and Death Cert. The Death Cert. showed 1863.

Carpenter, son of Benjamin Carpenter. I don't have dates or places
on Samuel, Father Joseph, Grand father Benjamin. I have a
daughter of Samuel Carpenter who was Mariah Abigail Carpenter
born 4 Nov. 1827, in Ira, Rutland, Vermont.
She married Samuel Erastus Moore the 28 Aug. 1843 in Berlin, St
Clair, Michigan. They with their families moved to Chelatchie Prairie,
Clark, Washington. I have found Mariah Abigail Carpenter's
marriage to Erastus Moore ( it looks like Mores) but right names,
right place, right time, Samuel Erastus Moore did go by Erastus at
that time as I've found property in Erastus Samuel Moore. I also
found both families on the 1850 Census in St Clair Co, Berlin township,
Michigan.
If you can make any connection I would be very grateful and willing to
share anything I have on that family line that you may want.
Looking forward to hearing from you whether or not we tie. Veris Moore

Subject: I'm relatively new to this list
Hello list,
I'm somewhat new to this list and was wondering if anybody could tell me how I fit into it all. The only thing I am certain of about my Carpenter ancestry is that My ggg grandmother was Marosa/Marasa (sp. Marassa in censi) Carpenter (b: 1823 in VT; d: 1861 in Berlin, St. Clair, MI; sp: Calvin Smith).
