No family listed.  He married but had no children.  "In 1852 he was licenced to
exhort by the Rev. Phineas Rice and received his first certificate in 1855.
For 42 years he was an accredited lay preacher of the methodist Episcopal
Church.  For some time he had been a sufferer, and his decline became
noticeable.  She who had been his wife, since Dec. 16, 1848, ministered unto
him.  There were no children to call.  On January 7, in the third watch of the
night, he heard the cry, "Behold, the bridegroom cometh!" and with lamp trimmed
and burning he went out to meet Him."
His long suffering wife, who steadfastly stood by in sickness and health neigh
to two score years (40), is not mentioned by name in the above record.
