Timothy a farmer, moved from Yates, NY to Cameron in 1825.  He and son
Uriah lived close to each other near the Thurston line.  One record gives
Timothy's birthplace as Onondaga county, NY, as does a record for his sister
Huldah.  The 1855 census of Cameron also lists grandchildren Mary, age 4 and
George W., age 1.  It is not known who their parents were.  As of 1855, his
wife, Nancy had been in Cameron Township for 29 years.  At least 6 children.

He later moved (aft 1844) to Cass county, MI.  Six of his seven children
survived him, the exception being Huldah.  Silas died intestate and letters of
administration for his estate were granted May 15, 1877 (see Bk. 5, p. 336,
courthouse at Mayville, NY.

Busti, Named for Paul Busti, general agent of the Holland Land Company. Formed
from Ellicott and Harmony, April 16,1823. Comprises the west half of township
1, range 11. Excepting the four north lots which were annexed to Ellicott in
1845, and six teirs of lots from tp. 1, range 12.

Number 505-5 in the Timothy Carpenter book.
Alwida never married, her name is sometimes recorded as "Elwida", as in the
1876 census of Harmony.  One record indicated year of death as 1909.  She
purchased three gravesites in the Jamestown, NY cemetery in 1907.  Buried in
them are her sister Eliza (500), brother Israel (502) and herself.

born in NY.   Daniel, Huldah and some of their children are interred in

DANIEL DIED AGE 73 YEARS, 4 MONTHS, 16 DAYS.  VETERAN OF WAR OF 1812.
# 75-3 IN TIMOTHY CARPENTERS DESCENDANTS. VARIOUS REGIONAL HISTORIES INDICATE
THAT DANIEL FOLLOWED JAMES, HIS BROTHER TO CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY ABOUT 1807.  HE
SETTLED ON THE WEST SIDE OF CHAUTAUQUA LAKE AS DID HIS BROTHER.  SHORTLY
THEREAFTER, HIS FATHER JOSIAH SETTLED ON LAND PREVIOUSLY PURCHASE.  IN HARMONY
TWP HE WAS ELECTED TOWN ASSESSOR AND HIGHWAY COMMISIONER IN 1817.
Daniel died intestate.  Letters of administration on his estate were issued
Dec. 7, 1885 and mentioned that all his children were then of full age (Vol.6,
p. 496, Courthouse, Mayville, NY.).  Besides the above children, the 1850
census  of Harmony lists in Daniel's household a Mary Carpenter, age 58
(probably his sister), a James Purdy, age 66, and a William Purdy, age 30, all
of which were born in NY.

Harmony
The earliest settlements in the town of Harmony, were made in that part of it which lies in the 12th range. The first settlement in this town is said, in the State Gazetteer, to have been made by Reuben Slayton, from Otsego Co., in 1806, on lot 43; Daniel B. Carpenter, the same year, on lot 64 ...
The annual town-meeting was held at Eleazar Fletcher's, April 1, 1817,when the following officers were elected: Supervisor—Palmer Phillips. Town Clerk—Orange Phelps. Assessors— Wm. William Benedict Pier

Some old records give birth place of W. B. PIER's children as Corry, PA. and
Wayne, Steuben, N.Y. for more info, see Spouse's notes.  Number 259 in the T.C.
Carpenter book.  Page 19.

WILLIAM was the son of OLIVER and BETSEY CARPENTER PIER.  He migrated to
Corry, PA. area Jan 26, 1834, where he engaged in lumbering and farming.  He
owned a tract of land (144 acres), part of which was with in the village limits
of corry.  After his spouse (his cousin ADAH) died, the widow of his son
WILLIAM and her children resided with him.  He had served as road commisioner,
judge of elections, auditor, and inspector of the school district, school
director, justice of the peace for years, and councilman for two years.  A
steward and trustee of the Methodist Episcopal Church, he was a Whig and later
became a Republican.

EDWIN died from the effects of a wound received in the Civil War.
It is unknown if he died in the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia like his
brother. Number 508 in the T.C. Carpenter Book. Page 6.
