Daughter of Alice and Wayne Carpenter. Sister of Earl, Mabel (Stegner), Doris (Kester), and Helen (Clark). Wife of Robert R. Lacher. Mother of Alice Lee, Sheldon, and Rosemary.

Florobel C. Lacher, a lifetime resident of Delaware County, died at her home on March 5, 2011. Born January 18, 1918 in Kingston Township to the late Wayne and Alice (Carney) Carpenter. The family moved to Delaware six months later. After graduation from Delaware Willis High School Florobel was a secretary for a Columbus law firm before being employed at The Ohio State University in the College of Education as secretary and agriculture as assistant to the dean. Florobel was an active former member of Liberty Presbyterian Church, she served as financial secretary and deacon. She was Orange Township Zoning Secretary for ten years and for a short period was clerk at the Lewis Center Post Office. In addition she was a bookkeeper for Lacher Electric. Florobel enjoyed editing newsletters for Liberty Church, Orange Friends and Olentangy Area Seniors. Family was her greatest pride and joy but she also liked reading, cards, travel, and genealogy research. Member of the former Lewis Center Salvation Army Auxiliary, Orange Friends Church, Delaware County Genealogical Society and Delaware County Pioneers.
