the farm for a number of years and helped his mother with the farm after his father's
death. Charles and Emma were later divorced....."Children of the marriage were: Clarence E (1896), Walter V (1898), Elsie
(1901-1901), Merle M (1905).

1920 Census: Breckenridge Precinct, Perkins, South Dakota: Charles is listed as a
farmer.
1930 Census: Back in Frankfort, Pepin, WI: Charles is 58 and a "general farmer".
Emma (46), Elithe (21), and Lisle (18) are still in the household.

Alabama. (Son Riley is living with sister, Nancy Cora.)From Elizabeth (Carpenter) Eggers book: Two children of this marriage, Harold
Riley (1897 - Montana) and Marguerite (1898 - Montana). Both married and had
children of their own, where they grew up, I couldn't find records.

1910 Census: Plainview. Three children present as well as sister-in-law Myrtie and
a "hired man", William Irish.
1920 Census: Plainview: Charles, Martha are living in twin sisters' household,
Marion and Myrtie. Charles is listed as a "manager" of shipping.
1930 Census: Plainview: Charles is 55 working in creamery, Martha is 53 and there
are no children listed in household.
