Darlington- Charles A. Carpenter, 80, died Wednesday (Jan. 20, 1971) in a hospital after a long illness. Mr. Carpenter farmed in the area most of his life until his retirement several years ago. He was a member of the Darlington United Methodist Church and the Modern Woodmen Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Hattie; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Gratz, Darlington; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1:30 pm Friday in the church.
Friends may call after 3 pm today at the Sharer Funeral home. The Capital Times 21 Jan 1971
