She had two marriages and one child - names unknown.
She is a strong willed but sweet lady. See "Duryea Papers"


31871. Emma Grace Carpenter

Residing in San Francisco, CA and died there in 1991.
She married a Preston Smith and had five children - names unknown.
She had a stroke and was in a nursing home prior to her death.

31872. Vernal Carpenter

Vernal married Carol Lamphier and had three children - names unknown.
Both of them died in an automobile accident.

Vernal ran away at age 15 to fight with Pancho Villa in Mexico and returned
home with a car (first to be owned by the family) and a story.
He had been shot through his cheek and the bullet exited behind his ear.  He
was then left for dead until someone heard breathing in the Morgue and saw "the
steam of breath" rising in the cold room.
