1940 Census: Whitewater, Winona, MN: George is a laborer with C.C.C, Children in
home are: George Jr, Betty, Ruth, and Atta
From the book by Elizabeth (Carpenter) Eggers.... "Martha Carpenter Heaser with
her husband operated the Heaser Rest Home in St. Charles for a number of years.
Geoge Heaser Jr. served in the Army in World War.

Children of this marriage are: George Heaser Jr. (1926), Elizabeth (1929), Ruth
(1931) and Alta (1932).

From Elizabeth (Carpenter) Eggers book..."Donald R Carpenter was a farmer until
he retired and his son took over the farm. Helen, his wife, was a housewife...."
According to the book, the children from the marriage are: Iva Mae (1945) and
Joseph W (1948).

1930 Census: St. Paul's Home for Girls, she is listed as an "inmate" with infant son,
James who is 3 months. Looks to be some type of unwed mother's home.
1940 Census: Ojibwa, Sawyer, WI: Living with husband, George. James is now 10
and listed as George's son. George is a farmer. Other children in household:
Virginia, Arbella, Florence, and George Jr.

Lillian and George were divorced June 2, 1942. Children of this marriage are:
Virginia (1931), Louisa Arabella (1932), Florence and George.

Two other children are listed for Lillian: Shirley J Carpenter (b. 1927). She was
adopted by Mr. and Mrs. William Boettcher in 1931. James F Carpenter (b. 1929)
changed his name to James F. Riley.
