Harold Turk, age 73, of 42 Mill Street, Dryden, NY died Sunday, October 8,
2006 at Cortland, NY. Harold was born October 17, 1932 at Dryden a son of the
late Dewey and Laura Carpenter Turk. He was graduated from Dryden High School
in 1951 and was employed there in the Building and Grounds Dept. until his
retirement in 1997. Previously Harold had worked at Cornell University and Victory
Market's Grocery in Dryden. He was a member of the Dryden Senior Citizens and
the Dryden Township Historical Society. Harold was an avid gardener and all
around handy-man. He enjoyed raising flower plants for his garden and home.
Survivors include his brothers, Gerald (Charlotte) Turk of Homer and Donald
Turk of Townville, SC; his sister, Carol Rogers of Brandon, FL; one aunt; nieces;
nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Mayes.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 at the Perkins
Funeral Home with Rev. David C. Robinson of The First Presbyterian Church of
Dryden officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are
invited to call at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden from 12:30 to 2 PM
Wednesday. Those wishing to remember Harold are asked to consider a memorial
to The First Presbyterian Church, CHIRP Fund, P.O. Box 42, Dryden, NY
13053-0042.

" Doris C. Marion, age 90, formerly of Union Street, Dryden, NY died Tuesday,
September 30, 2003 at Ocala, Florida after a brief illness. Mrs. Marion was born
September 25, 1913 at Dryden, NY a daughter of the late Archie and Ida Taylor
Carpenter. She was a life resident of Dryden and was graduated from Dryden High
School in 1921. She was a lifetime member of The First Presbyterian Church of
Dryden. Doris was employed for many years in the cafeteria of the Dryden School
until retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Literary Club, the Presbyterian
Women and had been church treasurer. She was an assistant 4-H Leader and
attended the Dryden Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband,
Russell I. Marion who died January 8, 1977.
Survivors include her children, Eleanor (Harold) Mahony of Freeport, NY; Robert
(Kaye) Marion of Ithaca, Ronald Marion of Cortland, Marie (David) Sampson of
Belleview, FL; a brother, Robert Carpenter of Dryden; a sister, Marjorie Freeborn of
New Woodstock, NY; fourteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces and
nephews. She predeceased by her brother, Harland R. Carpenter.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2003 at The First
Presbyterian Church of Dryden with Rev. David C. Robinson officiating. Burial will
follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 PM
Friday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Those wishing to

ROBERT STEPHEN CARPENTER, age 95, of Dryden, NY passed away Thursday, November 25,
2010 with family present at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Evan and Brenda. A son of
the late Archie and Ida Taylor Carpenter, Bob served in the US Army from 1941 to 1945 at
Ascension Island, Africa and Europe with the Army Corps of Engineers. On August 16, 1952 he
married Jean Elizabeth Albright in Newfield. A lifelong dairy farmer, Bob was a member of the
Leonard T. Spaulding Post #1134, American Legion, The Dryden Township Post #8158, Veterans
of Foreign Wars, The First Presbyterian Church of Dryden. He was a member and past Master of
the Grange, a member of the Dryden Senior Citizens and the Farm Bureau. Bob was a wonderful
steward of the land and was involved with the family farm until the time of his death in the
farmhouse where he lived as a youth. He will be greatly missed by his family and a wide circle of
friends.
Survivors include his children, Terry and Linda Carpenter of Auburn Hills, MI, Evan and Brenda
Carpenter of Dryden, Beth and Paul Thorp of Trumansburg and Martin and Karen Carpenter of
Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Adam, Joel, Gabriel (Penelope), Joshua (Katie), Daniel (Natalie),
Jason (Laura) Carpenter, Sgt. Christopher Thorp, USMC, Sharon (Phillip) Bligh, Andrew & Leah
Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Alexandra, Kyle and Gavin Carpenter; his sister, Marjorie
Freeborn of New Woodstock, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased
by his wife, Jean E. Carpenter and siblings, Harland Carpenter and Doris Marion.
Memorial services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at The First Presbyterian Church
of Dryden with Rev. David C. Robinson officiating. Bob's family will receive friends and family in the
fellowship hall following the church service. Interment, with military honors provided by members of
the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Those
wishing to remember Bob are asked to consider a memorial, in lieu of flowers, to the Dryden
Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team, 2272 Dryden Road, Dryden, NY 13053 or to Hospicare,
172 East King Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

William Andrew Warwick

WILLIAM A. WARWICK, 71, of 415 Elliott St., died Thursday after a short illness. A native of
Cortland, he was a resident of Syracuse 35 years. He was a retired conductor of the New York
Central Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
He is survived by his; wife, Mrs. Dorotha C. Warwick; seven sons, Donald W., Daniel, who is on
duty with the Air Force, William of Baldwinsville, Richard, Robert of Clay, James, on duty with the
Army, and Gary Warwick, on duty with the Navy; three daughters: Mrs. Beverly Williams of
Chappaqua, Mrs. James- Valentine of Marcellus, and Mrs. David Collins; and 16 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Greenleaf Funeral Home, 503 W. Onondaga St., the
Rev. Dr. Albert L. Baner officiating. Burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.
Friends may call 7 to 9 today and 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home."

"Robert D. Warwick February 27, 2011 Following a long illness, Robert Warwick,
69, of Baldwinsville, died Sunday. He moved to James Square Nursing Home in
November, where the amazing staff made his final days peaceful. Fuzzy was a
roofer/sider/ jack-of-all-trades from the time he was 16 years old. Everyone who
knew him was drawn to his charm, sense of humor, blue eyes and fuzzy white face.
Surviving are a son, Robert of TX; a daughter, Colleen Johnson of MA; four
brothers, Bill, Dick, Jim and Gary, all of CNY; two sisters, Marylyn Valentine of FL
and Ruthann Mehrhoff of VA; his former wife, Theresa Holmes of Liverpool; two
granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased
by his parents, William and Dorotha Warwick, and two brothers, Don and Dan. As
he wished, there will be no calling hours or services. A commemorative brick will be
placed this spring in Baldwinsville. Please contact his niece, Renee Pontello, for

Dorothy E. Mantey

DOROTHY E. KIMMICH, age 101, formerly of 1867 Owego Hill Road, Virgil, NY died
Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the Cortland Care Center, Cortland, NY. Mrs. Kimmich was born
June 1, 1904 at Milwaukee, WI a daughter of the late Albert and Sophie Kissinger Mantey. Her
husband, Ralph Kimmich, to whom she was married on June 25, 1925 in Little York, NY, passed
away Dec. 16, 1995. They celebrated 70 years of marriage. She was an active participant in many
clubs and organizations including the Virgil Historical Society, Virgil Home Bureau and served on
the Cortland County Board of the Home Bureau. Mrs. Kimmich was a member of the Virgil Senior
Citizens and assisted in the record keeping of the Virgil Rural Cemetery for many years while Mr.
Kimmich was the caretaker and president of the association.
Survivors include her daughters, Rosalind J. Kimmich of Auburn, and Mary Lou (Keith) Hatfield
of Scipio Center, NY; three grandchildren, Joan (Patrick) Costello of Oxford, Bruce (Marcia)
Hatfield of Scipio Center, NY and Ann (Daniel) Carey of Groton; nine great-grandchildren; nieces;
nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Robert Mantey; and a
sister, Marian Welch.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Perkins Funeral Home with
Rev. David H. Nicholls of the Dryden United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Virgil
Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, 55
