IA 1850 with the BEAR spelling, his brother; John joined him in Iowa on the 1856 census, John had lived there for 3 yrs. Per the census, The Bear spelling was used on the Clayton County marriage list for John Bear and Mary A Wilson’s marriage; The different spelling used on documents after arriving in Kansas in 1857? I assume because they marked their name with X that the spelling was spelled by whoever was filling out the document?  Ephriam used the Bair Spelling.)
