ALBION -- Lloyd N. Carpenter, 84, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at home.He was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Woodsfield, the son of Nelson and ZelmaCarpenter Carpenter. He retired in 1988 from U-Brand Corp after 42years. He was a charter member of Jackson Grange where he served as apast master, Ashland Eagles and (IAM) International Assn. ofMachinist. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, fishing and gardening.
Survived by five children, Gloria Carpenter of Mansfield, GaryCarpenter (Sandi Sloan) of Ashland, Michael (Carol) Carpenter of Lodi,Rebecca (Roger) Parsons of West Salem and Roberta Carpenter ofMansfield; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; threebrothers, Kenneth (Doris) Carpenter of Bailey Lakes, Gordon (Molly)Carpenter of Barnesville and Norman (Evelyn) Carpenter of JensenBeach, Fla.

Miss Dorothy Mae Dailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brady F. Dailey, Old Washington, was married to John O. Carpenter, son of Mr. and Mrs.Nelson Carpenter, Barnesville, Friday at 5:30 P.M. in the Presbyterian manse, Cambridge. Rev. L. S. Evans officiated.
Attendants were Miss Hazel Dailey of Old Washington, sister of the bride and Hershel Markle, also from Old Washington.
The bride was attired in a navy blue frock with black accessories,while her sister wore a melon color frock and black accessories.
A dinner was given Sunday in the bride's home of the newlyweds. Mr.Carpenter is a veteran of 27 months service with the army in the ETO and Pacific theaters. She was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Old Washington, the daughter of thelate Brady Franklin and Eva Marie (Spargrove) Dailey.
Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and formerly worked at Cambridge GlassHouse. She was Methodist by faith and attended Old Washington schools.
She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband in their motorhome,crafts, playing poker and spending time with her grandchildren andgreat- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her firsthusband, John O. Carpenter; her second husband, Robert Carpenter; andone infant brother.
She is survived by six sons, Richard (Sharon) Carpenter of Lore City,John Thomas (Debbie) Carpenter of Georgia, Russell (Jill) Carpenter ofAshley, Vince Carpenter of Florida, Stuart (Paula) Carpenter andSteven Carpenter, both of Lore City; one stepson, Donald Carpenter ofBelmont County; one daughter, Shirley (John) Keplar of Marengo; onestepdaughter, Margie (Robert) Dierdorf of Illinois; five brothers,Donald Dailey of Salesville, Frank Daily of Florida, Jim Dailey ofThornville, John Dailey and Tommy Michael Dailey, both of Florida;four sisters, Hazel Markle of Newark, Betty Sutton of Old Washington,Jose Marie Cronk and Sandy Van Ettan, both of Florida; severalgrandchildren and great- grandchildren; and several nieces andnephews.
