Subject: Query in regard to notation of CarpenterCousins.com
Mr. Carpenter,
In my own family research, I somehow stumbled across some information that intersects with information posted on your website.
I would like to inquire about a notation that I found while searching for Bell relatives of Lawrence Dale Bell (Bell Aircraft founder). Bell Aircraft was an aviation pioneer, producing the first aircraft to break the sound barrier, piloted by Chuck Yeager, as well as fielding the ubiquitous BELL UH1 helicopter series, which revolutionized military doctrine and is almost universally recognized.
Anyway, the reference is as follows:
“18681. Jennie Mary Carpenter Descendants submitted by Marcia (Forsythe) Bell of Peoria, AZ in a letter dated 27 June 2002.”
Larry Bell and his wife had no children. The closest relatives to him would be descendants of his siblings. I am only a 4th cousin, thrice removed of Larry Bell, but recognize the distant kinship because I am a Hoosier and this Bell family goes back to the pioneer days in Indiana and descent from Nathaniel Bell of the Revolutionary War, who served in the First Continental Light Dragoons under Colonel Theodore Bland.
So, I had been in communication with the Bell Aircraft Museum in Mentone, IN, who had indicated to me that they had no contact with any Bell family members and had no luck in tracing any, ostensibly more direct than my pitiful 4th cousin relation.
From my research, so far the only person who I could find and connect would be Howard G. Bell (Jr?), born 1932, who was the grandson of Larry Bell’s brother William. This ”Howard” married Marcia (Forsythe) in Los Angeles in 1963. He is now deceased, I believe, but I am wondering if the Marcia Forsythe Bell referenced above may have been his spouse?
It has been over ten years since that reference, but I would be interested to ask if you would help me establish contact with her, if she is in fact related to these Bell descendants. That is to say, if she is amenable to that.
I thank you.
I may be reached at 281-774-4800 or at this email address.
