Ralph Anthony Bold of Vancouver, WA passed away on April 24, 2009, at the age of 86. He was born in Oakland, CA, on July 4, 1922 to William and Mary Bold. The family settled in Vancouver where he attended Providence Academy and Vancouver High School.
He graduated from the University of Portland, in Portland, OR.
Ralph was stationed in Hawaii during WWII, where he served as a topographic draftsman.
He retired in 1985 after a long career with Crown Zellerbach in north Portland.
In June 1948 he married Jean Carpenter. They were married 55 years before she passed away in October 2003. They had a wonderful marriage, full of love and laughter.
Ralph was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.
His sense of humor, humility and kindness will be remembered
and missed by everyone who knew him.
He loved fishing, sports and long walks with his cat. Ralph never met an animal he didn't like and the feeling was always mutual.
Ralph is survived by his three daughters; Marilyn Perez-Rendon, Portland, OR, Patricia (Abdou) Charrada, Vancouver, and Mina (Mike) Edmunds, Yacolt. Nephew; Michael Garcia was Ralph's traveling buddy and partner in crime. Ralph had five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
We are grateful and proud to have had him as a father and a friend. He takes our love and a piece of our hearts with him as he joins our mother in heaven. We are all forever blessed for having him in our lives.
Go in peace, Dad.

A funeral Mass will he held at 12:00 noon, on Friday, May 1, 2009 at St. James Catholic Church, 218 W. 12th St., Vancouver WA. Reception following at the church parish hall.
Inurnment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Chapel.
