The Rev. Charles E. Carpenter, 62, of Clio, went to be with his heavenly Father Thursday, April 17, 2008, at home, after a short illness.
He was son of the late Edward L. and Mildred Patton Carpenter. Charles was a former employee of Norris Industries, and a graduate of Walton High School, class of 1963.
The Rev. Carpenter was a Christian and an ordained minister, and was pastor to several Baptist churches before becoming disabled.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Alma Nichols Carpenter, and Warren Ben and Mary Short Patton; and his parents.Surviving are sisters, Frances Marion and her husband Richard of Elkview, Joyce Robertson and her husband George of Charleston, and Ann Hart and her husband Bob of Washington, N.J.; brother, Phillip Carpenter and his wife Joann of Clio; many aunts; uncles; nephew; nieces; cousins; and church family that loved him very much
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April, 21, 2008, at Myers Funeral Home Chapel, Elkview, with the Rev. Jack McCune and brother Richie Marion officiating. Burial will follow in Payne Cemetery, Clio.

In entering Madoline I neglected to check to detremine if she was included in
another family, she had been, and now when reentered into this family, as shown
in the Mowrey book, she appears as adopted, this is inaccurate, she is shown in
the book to be the first child of Ralph Rex and Gertrude.
Lonnie Dale Alderman was born 18 February 1907, died in May of 1957 of a
self inflicted gunshot. He married Madoline Carpenter 19 June 1932
(born 29 May 1915 and died 23 April 1956, daughter of Ralph Rex and Gertrude
(Marks) Carpenter).
