Born March 31, 1877, at Summerfield she was a daughter of Daniel andMary Carpenter Powell.
Mrs. Keylor leaves two sisters, Mrs. Charles Keylor, of Ada, Okla.,and Mrs. Harry Creighton of Youngstown.
Funeral service will be conducted at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Homehere where friends may call after 7 P.M. Friday.  Burial will be inOaklawn Cemetery.  Friday 23 Nov. 1962 Jeffersonian.

Mrs. Frances Helen Carpenter, 74, widow of Moses Carpenter, died ather home, rear 42 Pearl Street, Saturaday night at 5:10 o'clock,following a long illness.
She was born in Monroe County, Nov. 25, 1854, and lived in Quaker Cityfor a number of years before coming to Newark.
Surviving are three sons, Luther Caarpenter, Roney's Pt., W.Va.;Arthur and Eugene, of Newark;  one daughter, Mrs. L.T. Forbes, Newarkand 10 grandchildren
She was the last of the family of 13 children.  Mrs. Carpenter hadbeen a life-long memnber of the Universality Church.
The body was taken to the R.E. Householder Funeral HOme, North FourthStreet, and the funeral coretge will leave there Tuesday morning at 9o'clock for Quaker City.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m.in Quaker City and burial will be made there.

Elizabeth Ann "Eliza" Carpenter

The death of Mrs. Eliza A. Carpenter occurred at her home near SpenceStation early Saturday morning from complications.
The deceased was born in Monroe County in 1855, but later moved toNoble County.  Eighteen years ago, she moved to Spencer Station whereshe has since lived.  She was the widow of Daniel Carpenter and issurvived by two children,  two brothers and one sister.
Funeral was held in the home on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C.E. Walters of Batesville and burial was made in Calais.  25 Feb. 1937Noble County Leader Caldwell Ohio.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Eldon for Mrs. Eliza A.Carpenter, 81, who died early Saturday morning at her home there.
Mrs. Carpenter was born Aug. 31, 1855, in Monroe County, the daughterof John and Louisa Carpenter. She is the widow of Daniel Carpenter andis survived by two children; Clarence Carpenter and Mrs. Charles Hunt,Eldon; two brothers, Asbury Carpenter of Quaker City and JohnCarpenter of Temperanceville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Carpenter ofQuaker City.
Rev. Walters was in charge of final rites and interment was made inCalais Cemetery.  Friday 25 Feb. 1937 Quaker City Hometowner QuakerCity Ohio.

Mr. Carpenter made his home with Dale Mayberry, of Quaker City.  Hewas born in Monroe County Jan. 15, 1894, a son of Daniel and Eliza AnnCarpenter.
A retired coal miner,  Mr. Carpenter leaves several nieces andnephews. Two sisters and one brother are deceased.
Friends may call at the Eberle Funeral Home, Quaker City, from 7 until9 P.M. Saturday, where services will be held Sunday at 2 P.M. with theRev. Mary Scales officiating.  Burial will be in Friends Cemeteryhere.  Sat. 27 Nov. 1976 Jeffersonian.

Martha Jane Bates

Mrs. Martha Jane, aged ninety-three years, widow of Robert Carpenter, passed away Friday evening at her home in Marietta from infirmities.
She was a daughter of Joseph and Martha Jane Bates, and was born at Batesville, where she spent the early part of her life.  
Her husband enlisted in the Civil War in 1860 and he had the distinction asserving as a camp guard during the war.  Following the war they made their home in Wetzel County, W.Va.  
Mr. Carpenter died in 1888 and several years later Mrs. Carpenter moved to Marietta where she had since resided.  
She is survived by one son and three daughters.
Funeral services took place Monday at Marietta.  Wed. 15 July 1936Noble County Leader.

Celeste Jalusha Carpenter

The death of Celesta, aged seventy-four years,  wife of the late AaronCarpenter, occurred at her home near here at 2:30 Monday morning,following a several week illness from infirmities.  She was thedaughter of Elijah and Anna Carpenter and the greater part of her lifewas lived in the Calais community, where she was well known and highlyesteemed.  For the past few years she lived in a farm near here.Surviving are two brothers, Lenoard of the home,  Vincent of Athens,and two sisters,  Mrs. Daniel Baker of near Calais and Mrs. JamesBarnes of this place.  The body was removed to the Brubach & DearthFuneral Home and prepared for the burial and later taken to Calais forfuneral services and interment.  Wednesday 29 Jan. 1936 Noble CountyLeader.

SPIRIT OF DEMOCRACY
WOODFIELD, OHIO
Tuesday, June 26, 1883

CALAIS, OHIO, June 18, 1883  ED. SPIRIT: We are having quite livelytimes in our village at present.  The band boys held a festival last evening to defray expenses.
A shooting affray occurred on the evening of the 17th between Rudolph Carpenter and Frank Parker of Summerfield.  Parker done the shooting, but failed to do any damage.  They were arrested and taken before Mayor Jones.  Carpenter was fined $2.25 and Parker was bound over to Court, but made his escape during the night.

The death of Joseph Carpenter, 77, life long resident of the Calaiscommunity, occurred at 11 o'clock Monday night from cancer of theliver.
He is survived by his widow and three sons, Silas W.,  Oscar F., andRoss W. Carpenter, near Calais.
The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Carpenter and the lastsurviving member of the family.
Funeral services were conducted at the home at 10 o'clock Thursdaymorning by Rev. G. M. B. Taylor, pastor of Summerfield M.E. church.Burial was made in Calais cemetery.  DC No. 77113 Monroe County Ohio.

Summerfield - Ross W. Carpenter, 97, of Jerusalem, died at 6:15 p.m.Saturday at the home of a great-niece, Mrs. Bert Bates, also ofJerusalem.
He was borm April 25, 1878 at Calais.  Mr. Carpenter is survived byseveral nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Brubach Funeral Home inSummerfield.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home withburial in Calais Cemetery.
