Orlis M. Haga, 75, died June 9 at Scheffler Rest Home at Pine Lakeafter an illness.
Long a familiar figure in the Caldwell community, he was the son ofSamuel and Mary Danford Haga. He was born in Summerfield where he hadspent most of his life.
He is survived by a son, Irwin of Summerfield; a sister, Miss LillianHaga, Cumberland; two half-brothers, Ben of Harrisonville, W.Va., andGeorge of Old Washington.
Rites were conducted at the McVay-Schilling Funeral Chapel in CaldwellSaturday at 2 P.M. Interment was made in Olive Cemetery.

Mrs. Eudora Calvert Carpenter, of Barnesville, died at 7:30 P.M. Thursday, March 1, 1963. She was born in Seneca Township on Sept. 11, 1870, the daughter of John D. and Phoebe Atkinson Calvert. Her husband, Alonzo Carpenter, died in 1944. She was a member of Church of Christ in Columbus.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W. V. Bennett, of Barnesville, Mrs. Dorothy Jobe, of Columbus and Mrs. Paul Miller, of Philadelphia; four sons, Eugene and Myron Carpenter, of Columbus. Melvin and Clare, of Van Nuys, Calif.; several grandchildren. Two children, Leland and Williard are deceased.
Funeral services were held at the Campbell Funeral Home at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, conducted by Evangelist James Gallagher. Burial was made in Calais Cemetery.

A Calais resident, Mrs. Elziabeth Carpenter, 87, who died Sunday lefta grand total of 150 descendants, which include,  5 children, 44grandchildren,  89 great-grandchildren and 12 great-greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Carpenter died at the home of a daughter,  Mrs. Mable Morris,Summerfield R.D. 2,  where she had been staying for the past twoyears.  She was otherwise a life-long resident of Calais and outlivedtwo husbands,  Jacob Carpenter, who died 60 years ago and JackCarpenter, also deceased.
Mrs. Josie Delong, Calais,  Mrs. Civilla Carpenter, Summerfield andMrs. Angelia Morris, Byesville, are surviving daughters in addition tothe daughter at whose home she died.  A son Odie, of Quaker City R.D.also survives and the following brothers and sisters;  Mrs. Pete Leachof Summerfield,  Barbara,  Hallie and Vincent Carpenter, all ofCambridge and Mrs. Addie Starr of Quaker City and Eliza. Carpenter ofBaileys Mills.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1 P.M. at CalaisMethodist Church by Rev. Delmar Johnson and burial was made in thechurch cemetery.  Friday 4 Oct. 1957 Quaker City Homer Towner QuakerCity Ohio.

BARNESVILLE---Mrs. Elise Goodhart Carpenter, 77, resident of 232 HuntAve., died at her home Friday at 12:30 P.M.
Born June 8, 1880, in Calais, she was the daughter of Daniel andHarriet Goodhart.
The deceased leaves her husband, Clement;  one son, Sherman ofBarnesville;  three daughters,  Mrs. Vera Flood of Quaker City,  Mrs.Fay Wehr of Henrysburg and Mrs. Beatrice Drake of Barnesville;  21grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren;  one sister, Mrs. OllieJefferis of Quaker City and an aunt, Molly Carpenter of Newark.  Threechildren are deceased.
The body was taken from the Campbell Funeral Home to the home of herdaughter,  Mrs. Drake at 239 Franklin St.,  Saturday afternoon andwill be returned to the funeral home Monday morning where serviceswill be conducted at 1:30 P.M.   Burial will be in Calais Cemetery.Saturday 16 Nov. 1957 Cambridge Jeffersonian.

CALAIS--Mrs. Adelia Carpenter, wife of Earl Carpenter, died Tuesdaymorning at her home here following an illness of pneumonia.
Surviving in addition to her husband are seven sons, Guy H. Carpenter,of Uhrichsville; John R., of New Philadelphia; Parker, of Barnesville;Earl of Quaker city; Ralph, of Tucson, Ariz.; Robert L., with the Armyoverseas, and Racey Carpenter, of Miltonsburg ; four daughters, LilyV., of Cumberland; Jennie, of Pleasant City; Mary, of Barnesville, andEmmaline Anne, of the home; 25 grandchildren, six sisters and threebrothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock from theresidence with Rev.. J..A. Traylor officiating. Burial will be inFriends Cemetery at Quaker City in charge of the Gardner Funeral HOme.

Earl W. Carpenter, 84, of Quaker City, Route 4, died Friday morning,December 2, 1966, at 6:30 o'clock in Barnesville General Hospitalwhere he had been a patient three weeks.
Born near Calais, on February 11, 1882, he was a son of John andLousia Wells Carpenter.  His wife Adeila died in 1945.
A retired farmer,  he spent his lifetime in the Calais community.
Surviving are seven sons.  Guy H. Carpenter, Dover;  Parker Carpenter,of Quaker City, Route 4;  Earl Carpenter, Summerfield Route 2;  RalphCarpenter, of Lewisville;  Robert Carpenter of Cambridge;  RaceyCarpenter and John Carpenter of New Philadelphia, Ohio;  fourdaughters,  Mrs. Lilly Stephens, of Cumberland;  Mrs. Jennie Stephens,of Cambridge,  Mrs. Mary Howell of Barnesville and Miss EvelynCarpenter of Clarksburg, W.Va.   A daughter, Mrs. Melva Pittman isdeceased.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in theCalais Methodist Church, with Rev. Bruce Frazier officiating.  Burialwas in Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.  Thursday 8 Dec. 1966 MonroeCounty Beacon Woodsfield Ohio.

She was born July 26, 1919, in Calais, daughter of the Earl and AdeliaCarpenter.  She was a retired entertainer for WIBC-Radio, Indianapolisand WPDX-Radio, Clarksburg, W.Va. and a member of Clarksburg UnitedMethodist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Miss Carpenter leaves three brothers, John and Racey Carpenter, bothof New Philadelphia and Ralph Carpenter of Lewisville;  two sisters,Lille Stephen of Cumberland and Jennie Stephen of Columbus; severalnieces and nephews.
