Funeral services for Mrs. Johnathan Carpenter, 70, were conductedMonday afternoon from her home in Beallsville with Rev. Floyd Workmanofficiating. Burial was in the Beallsville cemetery by the blowersand Campbell funeral home of Barnesville.
A native of Calais, Mrs. Carpenter died at her home Saturday. She hadbeen a resident of Beallsville more than 40 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Erma McDougal, three sons and severalnieces and nephews.

Jonathan Carpenter, of Beallsville, died Tuesday morning, November 28,1950
at his home, He was a retired farmer and was born in Noble County,Ohio on
January 11, 1872, a son of Robert and Maria Carpenter.
Surviving are two sons, Charles and Dean Carpenter, of Beallsville; a
daughter, Mrs. Nancy McDougal, of Beallsville; four brothers, Clem and
Alfred Carpenter, of Barnesville; Samuel Carpenter of Somerton, andCharles
Carpenter, of Lewisville; fourteen grandchildren and a number ofnieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Blowers and Campbell funeral home in
Beallsville on Friday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. FloydWorkman, of
Barnesville, officiating. Burial was in the Beallsville cemetery.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home,Barnesville, for Calvin Carpenter, 91, Quaker City R.D. 1, who diedThursday night Aug. 8, in Barnesville General Hospital.
Born in Noble County, July 8, 1883, he was the son of the late Jamesand Mary Carpenter.
Surviving are his widow, Pearl Starr Carpenter; four sons, Wesley.Ellis and Jimmie all of Barnesville and Lawrence of Lebanon, Pa.;four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Edith) Stephen, Winterset, Mrs. Denver(Eleanor) Carpenter, Quaker City R.D., Mrs. Paul (Lucille) Huntsmanof Barnesville and Mrs. Donald (Norma Lee) Stephens of R.D. 1,Jerusalem; one sister, Miss Hallie Carpenter, Cambridge; 24grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. Edith Stephens, 83, of 69608 Birmingham Road, Lore City, died at 12:35P.M. Tuesday (Dec. 15, 1992) at Guernsey Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 19, 1910, at Batesville, daughter of the lateCalvin and Pearl Starr Carpenter. She was a waitress and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Carpenter and a sister,Eleanor Carpenter.
Mrs. Stephens leaves her husband Joseph Kenneth Stephens, whom shemarried May 29, 1958; two brothers, Ellis Carpenter of Barnesvilleand James Carpenter of Lebanon, PA.; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Lucille)Huntsman of Barnesville and Mrs. Donald (Norma Lee) Stephens ofBoston; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday of this week at theEberle Funeral Home, Quaker City, for Mrs. Addie Starr, 79, Cambridge,who died Sunday, April 27, at Monterey Nursing Home, Grove City,following a long illness.
In charge of the services was Evan. McKinley Bates, Cambridge, withburial in Friends Cemetery here.
She was born Sept. 8, 1889 in Monroe County, the daughter of James andMary Carpenter, and was a member of Palestine Church of Christ nearBatesville.
Her husband, Friend Starr, died Jan. 2, 1952.
Mrs. Starr leaves one daughter. Mrs. Mildred Kemp, Roswell, NewMexico; one son, Herman Starr, Grove City; two sisters, Mrs. EllisLeach, Summerfield, Miss Hallie Carpenter, Cambridge, and one brother,Calvin Carpenter, Quaker City. Five sisters and two brothers aredeceased.
Friend E. Starr, 64, of Quaker City, took his own life by hanging,early Wednesday morning. The reason for his death was believed tohave been ill health, since he had been in failing health for the pastseveral years.
Clyde Carpenter, who had been residing at the Starr home at QuakerCity for the past few months, found the lifeless body of Mr. Starr,suspended by a rope from the doorway of a bedroom, at about 8:00 A.M.Wednesday, Carpenter told Guernsey County Sheriff John Steele, that hehad last seen Mr. Starr about four hours before.
A verdict of suicide was returned by Dr. W. A. Larrick, coroner ofGuernsey County.
Mr. Starr was born in Beaver township, Noble County, July 22, 1887, ason of Albert and Maggie Barnes Starr. He had been a farmer nearBatesville for a number of years and moved his family to Quaker Cityseveral years ago.
Survivors are his wife; Mrs. Addie Carpenter Starr; a son HermanStarr, of Caldwell; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Kemp, of Caldwell; onebrother, Frank Starr, Quaker City and a sister, Mrs. MelissaCarpenter, of Mansfield.
The body was taken to the Eberle Funeral Home, in Quaker City whereservices will be held Saturday, at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be made inFriends Cemetery. Thursday 3 Jan. 1952 Noble County Leader.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Ohio Department ofTransportation and served as Noble County Clerk of Courts from1941-45.
Mr. Starr was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, CaldwellPresbyterian Church, Noble Lodge 459 F&AM, Valley of Cambridge Ancientand Accepted Scottish Rite, 32nd degree Mason, Cumberland Chapter 116,Caldwell Council 21, Commandery 47 of Cambridge, the Dwight WarehimeMark Lode 3 and Noble County Scottish Rite Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oneda Emily Stallings Starr, onJune 27, 1983. They were married Nov. 26, 1936. A sister, MildredKemp, is deceased.
Mr. Starr leaves a cousin, Frank Starr of Milan, Mich.; abrother-in-law, Harry Kemp of Caldwell; special friends andcaregivers, Jim and Nancy Clark, with whom he made his home for threeyears; and other cousins.

He was a retired Exxon Co. USA instrument technician. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, 10 a.m. until religious services at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by Father Myles Kearney. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge.
Survived by wife of 64 years, Bertha Carpenter Edmonston, Galvez; a daughter, Latta E. LeBlanc, Galvez; a son and daughter-in-law, Louis L. Edmonston Jr. and Verda Lea D. Edmonston, Galvez; six grandchildren, Vickie L. and John S. LeBlanc, Mickie L. Ricca, R. Keith and Kittye A. Edmonston and Kellie E. Lee; and six great-grandchildren, Jason Laison and Joli M. LeBlanc, Jeremy R., Ian K. and Traci D. Edmonston and Barry J. Ricca Jr.
Preceded in death by parents, William F. (Barlow) Edmonston and Maggie Kelley Edmonston; a brother, Kelly Edmonston; and a sister, Olive E. Braud. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Prairieville and Bayou Country Exxon Annuitant Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Building Fund. Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales, in charge of arrangements.

A resident of Prairieville and a native of Geismar, she died at 2:27 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She was 95.
Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, July 10, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 11, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Pastor David Davis.
Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan Rushing Dencausse; a grandson, William Joseph "Joey" Bloodworth; and a great-granddaughter, Analiese Bloodworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Buck" Rushing; and parents, Edward and Ada Ficklin Carpenter.
She was a member of Abiding Hope Fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice, 10615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge LA 70809

He was a member of the Baptist faith, American Legion, VFW and Telephone Pioneers of America.

Daisey A. Carpenter Font Gourdon went to our heavenly Father on Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at her home in Port Vincent. She was the loving wife of the late Johnny T. Font and the late Andrew R. Gourdon.
She was born on Nov. 4, 1928, to the late Edward C. and Bonnie Lucille Carpenter.
She was known for her compassion and always putting her family and others before herself.
Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service in the chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Charles Ray Smith and the Rev. Mike Smith.
Burial in Felders Cemetery, Denham Springs.
Survived by her only child, a daughter, Johnnie Mae Font and her boyfriend Hulon Wayne Blount Sr., four grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Joseph Clinton and Lori Tate, Todd Leon and Yvette Tate, Calvin Ray and Lori Tate, Dennis Michael who is serving his country in Iraq, and Margaret Tate; nine great-granddaughters, Amber, Amanda, Blain, Nicole, Jessica, Shelbi, Jade, Makenzie and Alyssa; five great-grandsons, Jacob, Joshua, Todd Paul, Nicholas and Zachary; and great-great-granddaughter, Jaelyn Paige Corley.
She is also survived by four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Dalton and Rose Carpenter, Travis and Wendy Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Willie V. and Patty Carpenter; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Charles E. Smith; brother-in-law, G.P. Brignac; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was loved so much.
Mom, you were an awesome mother and friend, always there when I needed you. We are extremely blessed to have had you all these years. We will surely miss you, but our heavenly Father was ready for you to go home. We Love You so much, we are not saying goodbye, but see you later.
