She was born Feb. 12, 1891, in Monore County, daughter of Jacob andElizabeth Carpenter.  Mrs. DeLong was a lifelong member of CalaisChurch.
Her husband, Joseph M. DeLong, died Dec. 13, 1951.  Two brothers andtwo sisters,  three sons and two daughters are deceased.
She leaves two daughters,  Mrs. Edward (Bula) Ackerman of Lewisvilleand Mrs. Betty Bates Little of Cambridge;  three sons,  Guy DeLong ofSalesville,  Vance Delong of Senecaville and Donnie DeLong of QuakerCity;  a sister, Civilla Carpenter of Dayton;  43 grandchildren and 36great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was born February 20, 1891, in Monroe County, Ohio, a daughter ofJacob and Elizabeth Carpenter.
Mrs. DeLong was a lifelong member of Calais Church.

WOODSFIELD---DEC. 15, Joseph M. Delong, 66, farmer and lifelongresident of the Calais community in Monroe County was found in a fieldnear his farm Friday morning.  He had left his home about 1 o'clockThursday afternoon.  When he failed to return a search was started andhis body was found shortly after midnight.  The Monroe County coronersaid death was due to a heart attack.  He was born in Monroe Countythe son of Richard and Rebecca DeLong.
The deceased is survived by his wife;  three daughters,  Mrs. LelandHannahs of near Barnesville,  Mrs. Beulah Ackerman of Lewisville andMrs. Eddie Bates of Lore City;  five sons, Richard Delong of nearWoodsfield,  Cletus Delong of Lewisville,  Private Guy Delong of theU.S. Army stationed at Fort Knox, and Vance and Donnie of the home;two brothers, John of Akron and Howard of Toledo and one sister, Mrs.Ella Huntsman of Cambridge.
The body was removed to the Brubach Funeral Home at Summerfield andlater returned to the home where brief services will be conductedSunday afternoon at 1o'clock,  followed by additional services at 1:30in the Calais Methodist Church with Rev. SUMMERFIELD---Odie Carpenter, 70, Quaker Route 4 died at 12:30 P.M.Tuesday at his home following an illness of several months.
Mr. Carpenter was born in the Calais area May 15, 1892, a son of Jacoband Elizabeth Carpenter.  He spent his lifetime in the Calais area.He was a farmer.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ossie Carpenter of the home;  fourdaughters,  Mrs. Myrl Brownfield,  Mrs. Opal Crawford and Mrs. LeonaBrown all of Woodsfield Route 3;  a daughter Eva Ellis of St. Peter,Minn.;  two sons,  Irvin Carpenter of near Summerfield and Vernon ofWoodsfield;  18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren;  foursisters,  Mrs. Angie Morris of Byesville,  Mrs. Mable Morris ofSummerfield,  Mrs. Josie Delong of near Summfield and Mrs. CivillaCarpenter of Summerfield.  A brother James Carpenter, two daughtersand a son preceded him in death.

She was born in Monroe County Feb. 1893.  Her husband, Odie Carpenterdied in 1962.
Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Calais United Methodist Church.

SUMMERFIELD--Mrs. Civilla Carpenter, 94, of Greenwood Manor NursingHome, Xenia, formerly of Summerfield, died at 9 P.M. Monday (May 23,1987) at the home following a long illness.
She was born Aug. 12, 1893, in Monroe County to the late Jacob andElizabeth Carpenter.  She was a Methodist by faith.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. OliveCarpenter, whom she married 1910 and who died Jan. 10, 1956.  She wasalso preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, two brothers andthree sisters.
She leaves five sons,  Carson C. Carpenter and Manoah Carpenter bothof Summerfield, David D. Carpenter of Xenia,  Johnny O. Carpenter Jr.of Gahanna and Jimmy W. SUMMERFIELD---Funeral services for J. Oliver Carpenter, 76, of Summerfield, will be held at the Summerfield Methodist Church Friday at 2 P.M. by Rev. Lowell Kiger.  Burial will be made in Calais Cemetery.
Mr. Carpenter died Tuesday evening at a Cambridge hospital where hehad been a patient since Dec. 27 when he suffered a stroke.  The body is at Brubach Funeral Home and will be taken to the church Friday at 1P.M. to lie in state one hour.
A retired farmer, the deceased was a life resident of the Summerfield community.
Surviving are his widow, Cevilia;  two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Spence of Summerfield R.D. and Mrs. Mary Tilton of Summerfield;  six sons, John,David, Carson and Noah, all of Dayton,  S-Sgt. J. Oliver Jr of the U.S. Air Force in Florida and A 1-C James Carpenter of Philadelphia,Pa.;  a brother Earl Carpenter of Calais and several grandchildren.

Mr. Morris died at 8:03 A.M. Saturday (Jan. 16, 1982) at the home ofhis daughter, Maxine Shroyer, in Pickerington following an apparentheart attack.
He was born March 5, 1895, in Calais, the son of the Loman and MarthaMorris. He was a retired farmer and attended Calais Church. His wife,Mable, died July 18, 1971.

The Rev. Steve Leathley and the Rev. Norman Grimes will officiate.Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
She was born Jan. 27, 1927 in Calais, daughter of the late Hort andFaye Carpenter Wehr.
Mrs. Stephens was a retired seamstress with the former Jonthan LoganManufacturing of Barnesville.  She was a member of the Bible BaptistChurch of Cambridge and attend Hendrysburg Methodist Church.  She alsowas a member of Barnesville Senior Citizens.

BARNESVILLE---Kelly M. Stephens, 67, of Barnesville, died Fridayafternoon (Jan. 7, 1994) at his home.
He was born Oct. 16, in Boston, Ohio, son of the late Welda and EdnaHuntsman Stephens.
Mr. Stephens was a retired lumberman.  He was a member of the BibleBaptist Church of Cambridge and VFW Post 2792 Barnesville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Gerton, and twosisters, Hazel Jackson and Betsy Stephens.
He leaves his wife, Helma Wehr Stephens;  one son, Kelly Michael Roeof Barnesville;  one daughter, Mrs. Darryl (Becky) Hughes ofCambridge;  two brothers, Bobby of St. Clairsville and Ruben ofBarnesville;  three sisters, Glenda Betts and Martha Eddy, both ofBarnesville and Eileen Wehr of Canton.

BARNESVILLE----Sherman Carpenter, 74, of 223 W. South St., died inBarnesville Hospital Sunday evening (May 10, 1981).
He was born in Calais on Oct. 4, 1906, son of Clement and EliseGoodhart Carpenter.  He was a Methodist by faith.  He was preceded indeath by two sisters and one brother.
He leaves his wife,  Gladys Stephens Carpenter, at home;  a daughterMrs. Gerald (Garnet) Tacey of Bethesda;  a son Willis of Beallsville;three sisters, Mrs. George (Beatrice) Drake of Bethesda,  Mrs. FayeWehr of Hendrysburg and Mrs. John (Vera) Flood of Quaker City;  fivegrandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home today from 7 to 9P.M. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.  Services will beWednesday at 1:30 P.M. from the funeral home with the Rev. JamesPorter officiating.  Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery,Barnesville.  Monday 11 May 1981 Cambridge Jeffersonian.

She was preceded in death by her husband,  Sherman Carpenter;  fivebrothers, Jim, Charles, Fred, Joe and Claude Stephens;  and foursisters, and infant, Goldie, Florence, Lashley and Ellie Gray.
