She was born Aug. 17, 1909, in Belmont County, daughter of the lateJohn and Mildred (Delaney) Powell.
Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker and a member of Barnesville First ChristianChurch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Lucas; a daughter,Gladys Milhoan; two grandsons, John and Richard Milhoan; sevenbrothers, Hollis, Fred, Francis, Walter, Raymond, Dan and FrankPowell; a sister, Edna Phillips.
She leaves a son, Charles (Joanne) Lucas of Barnesville; twodaughters, Mrs. Francis (Edna) Jefferies and Mrs. Nelson (Norma)Fisher; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 13great-great-grandchildren.

Born at Bailey's Mills on Feb 19, 1907, he was the son of the late Lonand Lucy Brown Lucas. He was a member of Church of Christ.
Mr. Lucas leaves his wife, Lillian Powell Lucas of the home; one son,Charles of Barnesville R. D. 1; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Milhoanof Barnesville, Mrs. Francis (Edna) Jefferis of Barnesville and Mrs.Nelson (Norma) Fisher of Clarington R. D. 2; one brother, Ralph Lucasof Sarahsville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, one brother and onesister.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at Campbell-PlumlyFuneral Home, Barnesville. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery,Bethesda.

He was born June 18, 1916, in Barnesville, the son of the late Johnand Mildred Delancey Powell.
He leaves his wife, the former Mary Mace; one son, Fred Powell,Barnesville R. D. 1; five daughters, Shirley Ann Powell and Mrs. NancyMartin, both of the home, Mrs. Susanna Lara, Mrs. Rebecca White andMrs. Marjorie Travis, all of Barnesville; three grandchildren; twobrothers, Frank and Walter Powell and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Lucas,all of Barnesville. Four brothers and one sister are deceased.

Earl D. (Chick) Powell, a former employee of the United Dairy Companyas a stationary engineer and more recently a mine foreman, died in thehome of his sister, Mrs. Clyde Boyd of Quaker City Route 4 Sundayevening about 5:30.
Powell was born June 12, 1895 at Stafford, Ohio, the son of James andNancy Hashman Powell. Powell was a veteran of World War 1.
Surviving are three sons: Robert Powell, Olivett; Pvt Raymond Powell,Camp Campbell, Ky.; Willard Powell, Barnesville. He is also survivedby his father James Powell; fives sisters, Mrs. Clyde Boyd with whomhe had made his home for several years; Mrs. Ira Randolph, Mrs. HermanRoby, Mrs. Elmer Holland and Mrs. Kenneth Cross; one brother, Bert,all of Barnesville.
Military rites were head in the Campbell Funeral Home Wednesdayafternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Evangelist Harry Postlethwait.Interment was made in Crestview.

A scarp iron dealer, he was born March 31, 1901 at Somerton, the sonof Jacob and Margaret Botkin Powell.
Mr. Powell leaves three daughters,  Mrs. Fred (Betty) Carpenter,  Mrs.Hazel Saffell, both of Barnesville, Mrs. Robert Bryan, Cheyenne, Wyo.;eight grandchildren;  two great-grandchildren.  One son, two brothersand two sisters are deceased.
Friends may all at Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home after 2:30 P.M.Tuesday.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M.. Wednesday at the funeral home with theRev. Arthur Williams officiating.  Burial will be in SouthernCemetery.  Monday 13 Dec. 1971 Jeffersonian.

Barnesville - Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Van Horn, 34, will beheld Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Campbell's chapel.  Burial willbe in Southern cemetery. Evangelist James Gallagher in charge.
She died at her home at Morristown Saturday evening.
She was born in this section November 14, 1906.  Survivors include herhusband, Robert; a son, Robert Dale, both of the home; her father,Jacob Powell, of this city, and two brothers, William and CharlesPowell, both of this city.


1220. Bertha D. Powell

Bertha Olive Powell was born at Somerton, Ohio, January 30, 1894 anddeparted this life November 28, 1928.  Being at the time of her deaththirty-four years, nine months and twenty-nine days.  She marriedHenry P. Leach July 4, 1922 and two sons were born, both living.  Shebecame a member of the Church of Christ at the age of fifteen yearsand has lived a Christian life ever since.  She leaves to mourn herloss her husband and two little sons;  also her father and mother, Mr.and Mrs. Jacob Powell,  three brothers and one sister and a host ofloving relatives and friends.
Funeral was conducted by Elder Parsons of Malta, Ohio and burial wasin the Southern Cemetery.

A retired U.S. Postal employee, he was born May 30, 1896, in Somerton,a son of the late Jacob and Margaret Ellen Botkin Powell.
A member of E. Main St. Christ of Christ since 1913, he served withthe U.S. Navy during World War I.
Mr. Powell leaves his wife, Kathryn Denny Powell;  four daughters,Mrs. Margaret Ellen Grant and Mrs. Alma Mae Jones, both of Canton,Mrs. Dorothy Moyer, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Virginia Ann Miller,Diamond, O.;  one brother, Charles Powell, Barnesville;  10grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

BARNESVILLE---Kathryn A. Powell, 85, of Barnesville, died Saturday(July 2, 1988) at Barnesville Hospital.
She was born Sept. 19, 1902, in Bailey's Mills, daughter of James andAlma Hull Denney.  She was a member of Sandy Ridge Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William and four sisters.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Grant of Barnesville,  Mrs.Dorothy Moyer and Mrs. Robert (Alma) Jones both of Canton, and Mrs. Al(Virginia) Newlin of Diamond;  10 grandchildren, 23great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday morning at Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home inBarnesville, with Brother William Deuel officiating.  Burial was inSouthern Cemetery, Barnesville.  Tuesday 5 July 1988 Jeffersonian.
