Harry O. Thornberry, 79, of North Street, Barnesville, died in RedCarpet Nursing Home, Cambridge, Friday evening September 1, 1978.
He was a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ, Barnesvilleand was preceded in death by one son, Devaun in 1952; two brothers andthree sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Lila Miller Thornberry; two sons, Laverne, OldWashington, Ohio and Orlin of Barnesville; two daughters, Mrs. Galen(Maxine) Ellison and Mrs. Charles (Marple) Kluskey, both ofBarnesville; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Price of Long Beach, California andfive grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home where friendswere received,  Services were held Monday, September 4th at 1:30 P.M.conducted by Evangelist Richard Pryor.  Burial was made in CrestviewCemetery.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers - Devaun Thornberry (killed inKorea) and Laverne Thornberry.
Surviving are her loving husband - Charles R. (Bud) Kluskey (marriedSeptember 1955); sister - Maxine Harper Ellison of Barnesville;brother - Orlin (Mary) Thornberry of Barnesville; special nephews -Marlin Harper and Mike Thornberry; special nieces - Becky Selmon, TeriMerva and Jackie Thornberry; grand nieces and nephews - Cody Merva,Lauren Thornberry, Andy and Arin Selmon; sisters-in-law - EvelynThornberry and Maxine Rice and many friends.
Marple lived a Christian life and was a loving wife, a greathomemaker, wonderful cook and supplied many of her neighbors with herexceellent baked goods. She will be sadly missed by all.

QUAKER CITY--Forrest L. Starr, 91, Quaker City R. D. 1, died at 3:45P.M. Wednesday (June 11, 1975) at Barnesville General Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1884, in Noble County, he was the son of the late LabanT. and Ella Yoho Starr and was a member of Palestine Church of Christ.He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Mr. Starr leaves his wife Molly Starr;  one daughter, Mrs. Edward(Edith) McVicker, Quaker R. D. 1; one step-daughter, Mrs. GenevieveWarran, Chandlersville;  one step-son Robert Buchanan, Rix Mills;  18grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and twogreat-great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Dr. Frank Starr, Columbusand Emmit Starr, Summit Station.  Three sons, fives sisters and fourbrothers preceded him in death.

Woodsfield - Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the ClemPeters farm, Woodsfield, Route 3, for Mrs. Clara Mae Young, 59, wifeof Charles Young, who died at the Peters farm Sunday afternoon of acerebral hemorrhage.  She was born January 26, 1888, a daughter of J.B. and Sarah Miller, near Calais, Monroe county.  She is survived byher husband, to whom she was married on October 16, 1912; also by twodaughters, Mrs. Imogene Paulus of Bolivar, O., and Mrs. Elva Mae Smithof Columbus; three grandchildren, Doris and Dennis Paulus and PatriciaSmith; one brother, Fred Miller of Republic, O., and four sisters,Mrs. Lucy Young of Lewisville; Mrs. Blanche Friday of Cleveland; Mrs.Marie Sample of Sawyerwood, O., and Mrs. Lila Thornberry ofBarnesville.  She attended St. John's Evangelical and Reformed churchnear Lewisville and for many years taught the beginners Sunday schoolclass.  Rev. She was born June 23, 1910, in Fairview,  daughter of Anna JefferisStephen and the late Milton Stephen.  Mrs. Palmer was a member of St.John's Catholic Church in Miltonsburg.
Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her first husband Louie Carpenterin 1969, and her second husband Basil Palmer in 1978;  two daughters,Ruth and Geneva Carpenter;  two brothers, Garold and Hubert Stephen.
She leaves her mother,  Mrs. Anna Jefferis Stephen of Barnesville;two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Miller of Calais and Mrs. Dale(Margaret Ann) Daugherty of Malaga;  two sons, Garold Carpenter ofCanton and Dale of Calais; six sisters,  Mrs. Otis (Bertha) Carpenterand William (Thelma) Froehlich, both of Barnesville,  Mrs. Paul(Mildred) Hardesty of Carrollton,  Mrs. Dale (Madeline) Mellinger ofJerusalem,  Mrs. Gilbert (Virginia) Gallagher of Canton and Mrs.Kenneth (Wanda) Devitt of Waco;  four brothers,  Clarence Stephen ofJerusalem,  Clyde Stephen of Salem,  Rolland Stephen of Hargerstown,MD. and Joseph Stephen of Canton;  two step-sons, Charles Palmer ofWoodsfield and Lawrence Palmer of Bethesda;  two stepdaughters,  Mrs.Jim (Jane) Mellott and Mrs. Walter (Shelva) Boyles both ofBeallsville;  20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Death of Carpenter Child---Ruth Maxine, aged eight years, daughter ofMr. and Mrs. Louie Carpenter of Woodsfield Route 3, passed away earlyMonday morning February 6th, at the Barnesville Community Hospitalfollowing a few days illness. The body was removed to the GalbraithFuneral Home, Woodsfield, where it was prepared for burial andreturned to the family home Tuesday morning. Besides her father andmother, the child leaves two sisters, Geneva, aged ten years andDorothy aged two years. Many more distant relatives and scores offriends also mourn her sad departure. Funeral services were conductedby Rev. George Drescher of Miltonsburg at the home Wednesday afternoonat 1 o'clock. Burial was made in the Calais Cemetery.

KANZIGG, Hazel C., 84, of Beallsville died Sunday in the WoodsfieldNursing and Rehab Center.
She was born January 12, 1928 in Monroe County, a daughter of the lateClem and Victoria Carpenter Butler.
She was a member of the Christian Church and attended both Grandviewand Beallsville Christian Churches.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by herhusband, Glenn, on November 9, 2004; a brother, Vernon Butler; asister, Hilda Burkhart; a son-in-law, Larry Ogilbee; a great-grandson,Levi Ogilbee.
Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Ogilbee of Jacobsburg; three sons,Eugene (Donna) Kanzigg of Strongsville, Paul (Silvia) Kanzigg andKevin (Carla) Kanzigg both of Beallsville; nine grandchildren, Lance,Justin, Jessica, Brian, Adam, Alexis, Alicia, Derek, and Stephanie;eight great-grandsons; her companion, Nelson Mobley of Paris, Ohio; asister-in-law, Cinderella Butler of Woodsfield.

Glenn Kanzigg, 77, Beallsville, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, inWheeling Medical Park Hospital. He was born June 13, 1927, in BelmontCounty, a son of the late Wilbert and Edna Kirkbride Kanzigg.
He was a retired employee of North American Coal #3 Mine, and also aretired farmer. Glenn was a member of the First Christian Church,Beallsville and also a former elder of the Grandview Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Hazel Butler Kanzigg; a daughter,Joyce Ogilbee of Jacobsburg; three sons, Gene (Donna) Kanzigg ofStrongsville, Paul (Silvia) Kanzigg, and Kevin (Carla) Kanzigg, all ofBeallsville; a sister, Lucille Reed of Beallsville; nine grandchildrenand three greatgrandsons.

SUMMERFIELD-  Cecil R.. Carpenter, 79, Woodsfield R. D. 3, was founddead at 5:30 P.M. Wednesday (Oct. 17, 1973) in his home.  Mr.Carpenter was found by a neighbor and death was ruled due to naturalcauses, Monroe County coroner stated.
Born in Monroe County, Dec. 25, 1893, he was a son of the late Milroyand Margaret Jane Lucas and was a veteran of World War I.
Mr. Carpenter leaves one daughter,  Mrs. Jack (Gertrude) Passwaters,Zanesville;  three grandchildren, Linda Crum, Holland,  Mrs. CarolHayes, Lewisville and Gary Passwaters of Zanesville;  one brother,Alonzo Carpenter of Lewisville R.
