Services were conducted by Rev. Lloyd Tenney at 4 P.M. Friday atGiven-Dawson Funeral Home,  West Lafayette for Clinton M. Leach, 66,of 22112 High Street, West Lafayette, who died Tuesday Nov. 3, 1992 athis home after a lengthy illness.
Military graveside services were conducted by Coshocton VeteransCouncil in Fairfield Cemetery.  Friends were received from 5 to 8 P.M.Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Noble County,  son of the late Ellis andMaude Carpenter Leach.  He attended school in Noble County and was aU.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War 11.  He worked as a bricklayerfor 30 years.  He was a member of the Church of Christ,  WestLafayette, Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local 44 of Zanesville andthe Newcomerstown Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Mr. Leach leaves his wife,  Eileen Gallager Leach;  a son Larry G.Leach of Coshocton;  a daughter, Mrs. John (Diana) Calvin of WestLafayette;  three sisters, Edith Bates of West Lafayette;  Nancy Mooreof Coshocton and Phyllis Bates of Sarahsville;  and fourgrandchildren.  Wed. 4 Nov. 1992 Cambridge Jeffersonian.

WEST LAFAYETTE: Edith A. Bates, 79, of West Lafayette, Ohio, passedaway on Saturday, May 8, 2010. She was born in Noble County, Ohio, onJune 26, 1930, the daughter of the late Ellis and Maude (Carpenter)Leach.
She graduated from Summerfield High School, and was employed at JonesMetal Products Co. in West Lafayette, and then at General Electric inCoshocton for 25 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ inWest Lafayette.
Edith married Richard (Rip) Bates in 1949, and he preceded her indeath in 2004. Surviving are her sons, Kevin Bates, and R. (Kim) Batesboth of West Lafayette; and her daughter, Karassa Bates of WestLafayette; four grandchildren, Jessica, Jared, and Brent Bates, andJocelyn (Andy) Hiser; sisters-in-law, Eileen Leach, and Donna (Bill)Wiggins; and brother-in-law, John Moore. Edith was preceded in deathby four sisters, and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held in the Church of Christ, Russell Ave.,West Lafayette, Ohio, on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 11 a.m., withPastor Floyd Bates officiating. Burial will follow in FairfieldCemetery. The family will receive friends at Given-Dawson FuneralHome, 419 E. Main St., West Lafayette, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 11,2010,from 6 to 8 p.m.

WEST LAFAYETTE-- Richard C. "Rip" Bates, 76, of West Lafayette, diedFriday (July 23, 2004) at his residence.
He was born Sept. 16, 1927, in Noble County, son of the late Myron andJosie (Clark) Bates.
Mr. Bates was a graduate of West Lafayette High School.  He wasretired from Jones Metal Products Co., West Lafayette after 46 yearsof service.
He leaves his wife Edith A. (Leach) Bates, whom he married July 1949;two sons, Kevin Bates and Richard (Kim) Bates;  a daughter, KarassaBates, all of West Lafayette;  four grandchildren, Jessica, Jared, andBrent Bates and Jocelyn (Shawn) Vastano;  a sister, Donna (William)Wiggins of West Lafayette;  a sister-in-law, Nancy Moore of Coshocton.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at Given-Dawson Funeral Home,West Lafayette, where services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday with the Rev.Wayne Harman officiating.

WARSAW---Jimmy Neil Moore, 11-year-old son of John Moore and NancyLeach Moore, Towahak Lane, Coshocton, grandson of Ellis Leach,Summerfield, died at 7:30 A.M. Sunday (Nov. 17, 1974) at CoshoctonMemorial Hospital. Death was attributed to an extended illness andoccurred shortly after admission to the hospital.
Born in Coshocton, Feb. 25, 1963, the youth was a fifth grade studentat the Ohio State School for the Blind, Columbus.
In addition to his parents and grandfather, Jimmy leaves one brother,Sammy Ray Moore of the home. One brother is deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at E. MainSt. Church of Christ, Coshocton, with Evan. Pat Sydnor officiating.Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery her.

SUMMERFIELD---Betty June Casey, 64, of Sarahsville R.D. 1, died at5:55 P.M. Saturday (Dec. 20, 1986) at Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville,following a short illness.
She was born June 6, 1922, in Noble County,  a daughter of the lateEllis and Maude Carpenter Leach.  Mrs. Casey was a housewife and amember of the Bateshill Church of Christ.
Preceded her in death were her son, Rex,  an infant son, two infantdaughters,  a brother, sister and grandchild.
She leaves her husband, Charles, whom she married June 23, 1939;  abrother, Clinton Leach of West Lafayette;  three sisters, Mrs. John(Nancy) Moore of Coshocton,  Mrs. Carl (Edith) Bates of West Lafayetteand Phyllis Leach of Mount Ephraim;  three grandchildren and twogreat-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at theNeff-Brubach Funeral Home, Summerfield, where services will be at 1P.M. Wednesday with Evangelists Bernard Mason and Flavil Millerofficiating.  Burial will be in Mount Ephraim Cemetery.

Miss Betty, eldest daughter of Ellis D. (Pete) Leach and wife, ofRoute 2, and Charles Casey, of Mt. Ephraim, are announcing theirmarriage which tool place Saturday June 24, in Kentucky. The bridegraduated from the local high school this year. Both the newlyweds arehighly esteemed and are now receiving the best wishes of their manyfriends. They were given a rousing serenade last Thursday evening atthe Leach home.  Thursday 6 July 1939 Noble County Leader CaldwellOhio.

CALDWELL---Charles E. Casey, 71, of Sarahsville R. D. 1, died Monday(Feb. 27, 1989) at Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville following an lengthyillness.
He was born Sept. 19, 1917, in Noble County,  son of the late Josephand Clara Casey.  He was a retired employee of the former ImperialClevite plant in Caldwell and a member of the Caldwell Eagles 2952.
He was preceded in death by his wife,  Betty J. Leach Casey, in 1987;two sons, including Rex Casey who died in 1977;  twin daughters andone grandson.
Mr. Casey leaves three sisters,  Mrs. Neva Bichard of West Lafayette,Mrs. Betty Marks of Loudonville and Mrs. Mary Ellen Bartholomew ofCrestline;  four brothers,  Robert Casey and Joseph Casey, both ofMinnesota,  Orville Casey of Sarahsville and Pete Casey of NewConcord;  three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

1486. Forest K. Leach

Two persons were killed and two others injured in a two-vehicleaccident Saturday afternoon on Route 78, 2.5 miles east of Caldwell inNoble County.
Forest K, Leach, 50, Summerfield, driver of one of the vehicles waskilled in the head-on crash.
Mrs. Blanche Leasure, 67, Lewisville, a passenger in the othervehicle, also was killed.
The driver of the car, Mrs. Dorothy Leasure, 28, Lewisville, wasreported in serious condition in Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville,with fractures and internal injuries.
Her son, Eddie Leasure Jr., 8, also is in Good Samaritan with botharms fractured.
The state patrol said the Leach truck was going east and the Leasureauto west when they collided head-on. Officers said the pick-up wasleft of center at the time.
Leach was headed for his home in Summerfield and Mrs. Leasure wasbeing taken to a doctor's office in Caldwell for an appointment at thetime of the mishap.
Leach was removed to the the Bruback Funeral Home in Summerfield andMrs. Leasure to the Gardner Funeral Home in Woodsfield.
Funeral services for Leach will be 1 P.M. Tuesday at the BrubachFuneral Home, Summerfield, with Evangelist McKinley R. Batesofficiating. Burial will be in Eastern Cemetery where military riteswill be held by Summerfield American Legion Post and Caldwell Veteransof Foreign Wars.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 P.M. today.
Services for Mrs. Leach will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday MT. Tabor UnitedMethodist Church with the Rev. Richard Leonardt officiating. Burialwill be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Gardner FuneralHome, Woodsfield, this afternoon and evening.
Leach was born March 16, 1921 in Noble County, the son of Ellis D.(Pete) and Maudie Carpenter Leach, Summerfield R.D. 1, and was amember of the Church of Christ, American Legion Post, Caldwell V.F.W.,United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointures Union 245. He was aveteran of World War II, having served with Army-Air Force in the CBItheater of operations.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the formerElla Mae Starr; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Buchtel, Cambridge andMiss Betty Leach of the home; two sons, Spec. 4 David Leach with theU.S. Army in Germany, and Thomas Leach of the home; one grandson,Scott Butchel; four; sisters, Mrs. Betty Casey, MT. Ephraim, Mrs.Phyllis Leach, Summerfield R.D. 1, Mrs. Nancy Moore, Coshocton, Mrs.Edith Bates, West Lafayette, sister Mrs. Neav Clark is deceased.
Mrs. Leasure was born Aug. 14, 1898 in Monroe County, the daughter ofMatthew and Alice Leach Brown, and was a member of MT. Tabor UnitedMethodist Church.
She is survived by five sons, Junior of Woodsfield, Lloyd ofGraysville and Edward and Roger, both of Lewisville, Harold ofSummerfield; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Walterman, Marrietta; 28grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Brown ofWoodsfield; three sisters, Mrs. Earl Okey and Mrs. William Leasure,both of Woodsfield, and Mrs. Clem Mallett, near Lewisville.
