QUAKER CITY--Rodney L. Bunting, 75, of Quaker City, died Sundaymorning (Feb. 9, 1992) at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born Sept. 11, 1916, at Calais, son of the late Jesse andAdelia Carpenter Bunting.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II,retired from the B&O Railroad and was a member of Quaker City Churchof Christ.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Stephens Bunting,and a brother.
Mr. Bunting leaves his wife, Patricia Robinson Bunting;  a son LarryBunting of Caldwell;  a daughter Bonnie Patterson of Quaker City;three step-daughters, Kelley Hunter of Dennis, Mass.;  Toni Oliver ofCambridge and Terri Hylton of Quaker City;  five grandchildren;  threegreat-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

QUAKER CITY--Florence L. Bunting, Quaker City, died Saturday (Dec. 29,1984) at her residence.  She was born in Monroe County, daughter ofthe late John and Mattie Hannahs Stephens.
She leaves her husband, Rodney Bunting, whom she married Jan. 19,1939.
In addition to her husband, she leaves one son, Larry Bunting ofCaldwell;  one daughter, Bonnie Patterson of the home;  four brothers,Kyle Stephens of Canton, Oren Stephens of Florida,  Neal Stephens ofZanesville and Vernon Stephens of Newcomerstown; one sister, ThelmaUppole of Calais; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and onestep-great-grandson.

He was born May 24, 1915, at Fairview, son of the late Jesse J.Bunting and Adelia Carpenter Bunting.  He was a retired employee of Ohio Valley Paving Co. and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.  He was a member of American Legion Post 168 and VFW Post 2792 both of Barnesville.
He was preceded in death by two sons,  Jackie Lee and Robert L. Bunting;  one daughter, Gloria Jean Bunting and one granddaughter,Heather.
Mr. Bunting leaves his wife,  Bessie Brownfield Bunting;  three sons, Sammie K. BARNESVILLE -- Bessie O. Bunting, 91, of Zanesville, formerly ofBarnesville, died Wednesday (March 21, 2007) at the home of her son,Hugh Bunting in McConnelsville.
She was born Sept. 9, 1915, in Calais, daughter of the late James andBlanche Brownfield.
Mrs. Bunting lived several years in Quaker City and Barnesville beforemoving to Zanesville.
She was a graduate of Calais High School. She was baptized at an earlyage and a member of Church of Christ.
She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, reading the Bible and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobart A. Bunting; adaughter, Gloria Jean; three sons, Sammie, Jackie Lee and HollieBunting; a stepson, Robert Bunting; two grandchildren; two sisters,Mabel Starr and Stella Mitchell; and three brothers, Woodrow, Oscarand Herbert Brownfield.

Edna Mary Hayes

CALDWELL -- Edna M. Hayes Truax, 97, of Caldwell, passed away Saturdaymorning (Nov. 17, 2012) at the Summit Acres Nursing and Rehabilitationin Caldwell.
She was born Sept. 9, 1915, in Calais, daughter of the late Daniel andBelle Hutchins Hayes.
Mrs. Truax was a lifelong Methodist and mostly recently a member ofthe Caldwell United Methodist Church. She was a 60-plus year member ofthe Order of the Eastern Star, past matron of the Former SummerfieldChapter No. 238 Order of the Eastern Star, district deputy and theGrand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1966. Most recentlyshe was a member of the Masterton Chapter No. 584 Order of the EasternStar.
For many hears she was a faithful helper to her husband, by providingthe children's message in the churches he served.
She always enjoyed her flowers, but what she loved most was being awife, mother and grandmother to her family.
In addition to her family she was preceded in death by her husband,Rev. Durel E. Truax, whom she married March 19, 1941, and who passedaway July 9, 2004; son, Bobby; four brothers, Truman, Allen "Cap",Irvin "Chick" and David Hayes; four sisters, Nona Hayes, Susie HannahsButler, Nellie Keylor and Grace Claus.
She was loved and will be missed by her family, daughter, Patsy Truaxof Cumberland; two sons, John Truax of Columbus and Gary (Cheryl)Truax of Woodsfield; two grandchildren, Corey (Erica) Truax ofKentucky, Michelle Wegner of Fredericksburg, Va.; twogreat-grandchildren, Austin and Nolan Wegner. She is also survived byseveral nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received Monday, Nov. 19 from 3 to 6 p.m. at theChandler Funeral Home, 609 West St., Caldwell, with Order of theEastern Star services observed Monday at 6.

Richard Henry Neuhart

Richard H. Neuhart, 81, of Quaker City, died Tuesday (June 17, 2014)at the Barnesville Health Care Center.
He was born September 15, 1932 in Batesville, son of the late ForrestNeuhart and Hazel (Mercer) Neuhart.
Mr. Neuhart was a retired school bus driver for the Noble LocalSchools. He was also the owner of Neuhart’s Service of Batesville.
He was a graduate of Batesville High School. He attended theBatesville Methodist Church.
Mr. Neuhart was a US Marine Corps veteran, having served during theKorean War. He was a life member of the Batesville American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter,Denise Neuhart; four brothers, Ralph, Ray, Jimmy, and Jack; and twosisters, Marie and Juanita.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Carpenter) Neuhart, whom he marriedAugust 29, 1953; two sons, Tony (& Janice) Neuhart of Batesville andCraig (& Karen) Neuhart of Quaker City; three grandchildren, Jennifer(& Jeremy) Wayble, Stephen Neuhart, and Daniel Neuhart; and twogreat-grandchildren, Samuel and Avery Wayble.

She was born September 1, 1954 in Barnesville, daughter of RichardNeuhart and Irene (Carpenter) Neuhart.
Miss Neuhart was the owner and operator of Denise’s Hair Gallery ofCambridge.
She was a 1972 graduate of Shenandoah High School and a graduate ofthe Cambridge Beauty College.
She loved antiques and crafts.
She went to be at rest with her beloved uncle, Ralph Neuhart, whopreceded her in death.
She is survived by her parents, Richard and Irene Neuhart of QuakerCity; two brothers, Tony (& Janice) Neuhart of Batesville and Craig (&Karen) Neuhart of Quaker City; two nephews, Stephen Neuhart and DanielNeuhart; a niece, Jennifer (& Jeremy) Wayble; a great-nephew, Samuel;and a great-niece, Avery.

Summerfield - Mancel Pierce, 68, of Calais, Quaker City Route 4, diedat 4:15 A.M. Tuesday at Pomerene Memorial Hospital at Millersburgfollowing an eight month illness.
Mr. Pierce was being returned to his home from Cleveland Clinic atCleveland when his conditioned worsened.  He was admitted at thehospital in Millersburg.
Mr. Pierce was born Aug. 28, 1900, near Calais, a son of Joseph andLeatha Carpenter Pierce.  He had been employed as a constructionworker for Benton Bridge Company of Wooster.
Surviving are his widow, the former Olive Hayes; five daughters, Mrs.Melba Carpenter and Mrs. Emma Jean Schlosser both of Byesville, Route1, Mrs. Ocie McFrederick of Jerusalem and Miss Laura and Miss ConniePierce of the home; five sons, Roy of Killbuck, Joseph of CambridgeRoute 2 and John, Byrol and Robert all of the home; 13 grandchildrenand three sisters, Mrs. Easter Poulton and Mrs. Mahalia Hill, both ofSummerfield, and Mrs. Mildred Snyder of Bethesda.

BARNESVILLE---Connie Pierce, 18, Quaker City R.D. 4 was killed and twoother persons seriously injured in a two car accident early today onRoute 147, 2.6 miles west of here.
Miss Pierce was a passenger in a car driven by Virgil Farnsworth, 24,Summerfield R.D. 2.
Another passenger in the car, Laura Pierce, 21, Quaker City R.D. 4suffered a fractured left ankle and right collarbone.
A 1970 graduate of Shenandoah High School, she was born Jan. 31, 1952in Monroe County, the daughter of Mrs. Olive Hayes Pierce, Quaker CityR.D. 4, and the late Mancel Pierce.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three other sisters,Mrs. Melba Carpenter, Quaker City R.D. 4, Mrs. Emma Jean Schlosser,Byesville, Mrs. Ocie Mc Frederick, Jerusalem; five brothers, Roy ofKillbuck, Joseph Pierce of Cambridge R.D. 2, John Pierce, Quaker City,R.D., Byrol Pierce of the home and Robert Pierce with the U.S. Army inGermany.

Mrs. Jessie Brownfield Ralston, wife of Wayne Ralston, and a residentof Hendrysburg, died Sunday evening in the Barnesville Hospital whereshe had been a patient for several weeks.  She had been suffering froma heart condition for months.
Mrs. Ralston was born at Calais March 28, 1907.  She was the daughterof James and Birdie Brownfield.  She was a member of the West MainStreet Church of Christ.

Mr. Brownfield was retired from the Barnesville Water Department andhe was an Army veteran of World War II.  He was a member of West MainStreet Church of Christ and the Belmont County Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Brownfield;  and twosisters, Vesta VanFossen and Jessie Ralston.
He leaves his wife, Evelyn N. Pierce Brownfield;  a daughter, Mrs.Roseanne Cisch of Cincinnati;  a brother Ellis Brownfield of Parma;  asister, Dorothy long of Barnesville; and two grandchildren.

Evelyn N. Pierce

BARNESVILLE--Evelyn N. Brownfield, 90, of Barnesville, died Tuesday(Feb. 13, 2001) at Hospitality West Nursing Home, Xenia.
She was born July 2, 1910, in Barnesville, daughter of the late Oswaldand Elphia Carpenter Pierce.
Mrs. Brownfield was a member of West Main Street Church of Christ.She retired from Bethesda Grade School, where she taught for 43 years.She was a member of Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold K. Brownfield.
She leaves a daughter, Roseanne Cisch of Dayton;  a sister, EllenSmith of Cambridge; and two grandchildren.

Lloyd D Brownfield, 70, of 316 Harrison St., Barnesville, diedSaturday morning at his home.  He was born Sept. 26, 1918 in__?__view, a son of the late James "Dink" and Birdie Ann CarpenterBrownfield.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose of Barnesville, VFW ofBarnesville, and Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leone, one brother, two sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Missy Carnes of Cambridge; two brothers,Harold Brownfield of Barnesville and Ellis Brownfield of Parma; twosisters, Vesta Van Fossen and Dorothy Long, both of Barnesville.
Friends will be received Monday, 4 to 9 p.m. at the Campbell PlumlyFuneral Home, Barnesville, where services will be held Tuesday at 1p.m. with Evangelist Patrick Gampp officiating.  Burial follows inFriends Cemetery, Quaker City.  VFW services will be Monday evening at7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Missy Carnes, 66, of Cambridge passed away at her home Jan. 29, 2014.
She was born April 20, 1947, daughter of the late Lloyd Brownfield andJoan Wilson.
She went to Cambridge High School (class of 1965).
She leaves behind one sister, Toni Wilson of Cambridge; one aunt,Dorothy Long of Barnesville; one uncle, Joseph Marchetti of Sault St.Marie, Mich.; also many cousins and a few special friends including,Ben Van Dyne, Connie Hazinakis, Sharon Arnold and Judy Roland Rowsey.
There will be no services as she donated her body to the OhioUniversity, Athens.
Donations in her name may be made to the Guernsey County Dog Pound.

BARNESVILLE---Vesta I. VanFossen, 71, of 485 North St., died Sunday(June 4, 1995) at her home.  She was the daughter of the late James"Dink" and Birdie Ann Carpenter Brownfield.  She was a member of WestMain Street Church of Christ.
Mrs. VanFossen was preceded in death by two brothers,  William andLloyd Brownfield,  two sisters, Jessie Ralston and Mary JaneBrownfield.
She leaves a daughter,  Judy Powell of Barnesville;  two brothers,Harold Brownfield of Barnesville and Ellis Brownfield of Parma;  asister Dortha Brownfield Long of Barnesville;  two grandsons, Duaneand Trent Powell both of Barnesville, and two great-grandsons;several nieces and nephews.
