Friends may at the funeral home after 1 P.M. today.
Mr. Carpenter died at 8:45 P.M. Saturday (March 24, 1973) in Barnesville Hospital.
Born Nov. 29, 1895 in Monroe County, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Miller Carpenter.  A farmer, he was a Methodist by faith and a veteran of World War 1.  He was also a member of the Veterans of World War 1 of the USA Inc.
Mr. Carpenter leaves four sons, Guy, Donald, Sylvan and Dale, all of Barnesville; two daughters, Edith and Ora of the home;  11 grandchildren and four great-grandsons; and one sister, Mrs. Ora Johnson of Barnesville.
His wife, Tressie Carpenter died in 1970.  One son Ellsworth and one brother Raymond are also deceased.  Monday 26 March 1973 Jeffersonian.

In adddition to her parents - Joseph G. and Ora L. (Carpenter)Johnson, she was preceded in death by a brother - Douglas Johnson and2 sisters - Virginia and Margaret A. Johnson.  Surviving is her lovingsister - Wanda Ruth Johnson of Barnesville.
She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, where shesang in the choir and was a member of United Methodist Women.  She wasa member of the Grange and Professional Womens Club.  She retired in1984 after working for over 40 years as a secretary for Atty WilliamChaney.
Friends will be received Monday (10/01/2012) from 10 AM until time ofthe service at Noon at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N.Chestnut Street, Barnesvile, OH with Pastor Richard Cox officiating.Burial follows in Nothern Cemetery.

Gilmer E. Hannahs, 56, of 1725 Cherrywood Dr., trucker, died at 1 p.m.Wednesday in Holtzer Hospital, Gallipolis, after a brief illness.
Enroute to Gallipolis Wednesday he was alone in the truck and washauling a semi-trailer for the Newark Cartage Company.  Feeling ill,he drove into the service station at Middlesport and was taken to thehospital.
Formerly employed by the Phil Vogelmeier Company as a driver severalyears,  he was later engaged in his own trucking business.
Born June 9, 1906, in Calais, Monroe County, he was the son of thelate Thurman and Mary (Carpenter) Hannahs, and came to live in Newark1927 from Cambridge, Ohio.  He was a member of Newark Lodge, Eagles.
Surviving are his widow, the former Martha Porter;  a son and twodaughters, R.E. Hannahs and Mrs, Mitchell Young, both of Newark andMrs. Dale Evans, Utica;  also five grandchildren, and a brother, E. T.Hannahs, Quaker City
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel in theRoss-Henderson Funeral Home conducted by Rev. R. S. Smith.  Burialwill be in Newark Memorial Gardner's.

She enjoyed reading and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert B. Carpenter on July23, 1985.  They were married Aug. 30, 1933.  Also deceased are threebrothers and a sister.
She leaves a daughter, Georgianna Carpenter of Columbus;  a son D.K.(Patsy) Carpenter of Summerfield;  four grandchildren, Dan (Debbie)Carpenter of Summerfield,  Darwin (Angie) Carpenter of Sarahsville,Dustin (La Dawn) Carpenter of Summerfield and Mrs. Eric (Darcie)Anderson of Lewisville;  nine great-grandchildren, Drew, Devanni,Dana, Kyla, Dalton, Dillon, Dallas, Emma Carpenter and Korah Anderson;three nieces and two nephews.

The bride graduated from the Batesville High School and for the pastfew years has been operator at the Batesville telephone office.  Thegroom graduated from the local high school.  Both Mr. and Mrs.Carpenter are splendid young people and deservedly popular among theirassociates and are now receiving felicitation of their many friends.For the the present the bride will continue her work, after which theywill reside with the groom's mother.  Summerfield News 20 Sept. 1933Nobel County Leader.

Mrs. Barnett died unexpectedly at 2 P.M. Saturday (Jan. 1, 1972) ather home following an apparent heart attack.
She was born May 18, 1915, the daughter of James and Oma CarpenterBarnes, and was a member of Summerfield United Methodist Church;Chapter 238 Order of Eastern Star;  and American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Barnett leaves here husband, Charles, a township trustee;  foursons,  Ronald (Pete) Barnett, Summerfield highway director atMacksburg outpost;  Jack Barnett, Summerfield R.D. 1, Charles Barnett,Senecaville R.D. 1, and Jeffery Barnett, Summerfield;  threedaughters,  Mrs. Wanda Christman, Columbus,  Mrs. Kathleen,Summerfield and Mrs. Barbara Biedenbach, Malaga;  11 grandchildren;two sisters,  Mrs. Ocie Denos, Chicago, III., and Mrs. Luella Moore,Summerfield and a half-brother, Guy VanFossen, Summerfield.  Two sonsdied in infancy and brother is also deceased.  Monday 3 Jan. 1972Jeffersonian.


Charles "Barney" Barnett

SUMMERFIELD--Charles (Barney) Barnett, 72, of Summerfield R.D. 1, diedat 6:24 Tuesday (Aug. 12, 1980) at University Hospital, Columbus,following a seven week illness.
Born March 20, 1908 in Cameron, W.Va., he was son of the late John andCora Young Barnett. He was a retired farmer, a former school busdriver for Noble Local Schools, an employee of the State Of Ohio and a29 year Marion Township trustee. Mr. Barnett was a member ofSummerfield Masonic Lodge 425 and Eastern Cemetery board.
He first married Molly Barnes, who died in  1972. He later married theformer Laura Brown Dotson, who survives. Mr. Barnett also leaves foursons, Ronald Barnett of Albany, Jack and Jeffrey Barnett ofSummerfield and Charles of Senecaville; one step-son, Charles Dotsonif Murffreesboro, Tenn.; three daughters, Wanda Christman of Columbus,Kathleen Hannum of Summerfield and Barbara Diedenback of Lewisville;three step-daughters, Linda Hawkins of Murffreesboro, Pamela Motil ofPleasant City and Teresa Guiler of Summerfield; 19 grandchildren; ninestep-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, John BarnettJr. of Florida; and one sister, Mrs. Harold (Claire) Knowlton ofZanesville.
Two sons are deceased.
Calling hour are Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at Brubach FuneralHome where Masonic services will be 7:30 that evening. Services willbe 1 P.M. Friday at Summerfield United Methodist Church. Summerfield - Anna Louella Moore, 75, of Summit Acres Nursing Home,Caldwell, formerly of Summerfield, died 4:30 P.M. Sunday (Aug. 16.1987) at Guernsey Memorial Hospital, Cambridge, following an extendedillness.
She was born Aug, 23, 1911, in Whigville, daughter of the late Jamesand Oma Carpenter Barnes.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Summerfield Church of Christ and aformer member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 415, Summerfield.
On March 8, 1930, she married Harry T. Moore, who died Nov. 29, 1977.A son, James, two sisters and two brothers are also deceased.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Myrl (Pat) Ruble of Cambridge and Mrs.Naoma Philpot of Summerfield; five sons, Harry T. Moore Jr. ofCambridge, Charles A Moore of Summerfield, Terry L. Moore of BelleValley, Thomas D. Moore of Cambridge and Master Sgt, Timothy R. Mooreof Seoul, South Korea; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Summerfield - Services for Harry T. Moore, 66, of Summerfield, will beheld at 1 P.M. Saturday at Brubach Funeral Home with Evang. WilliamDeuell officiating.  Burial will be in Eastern Cemetery.

Mr. Moore was found dead at his home at 2 P.M. Thursday (Dec. 1,1977).  Authorities stated that he had been dead two days and deathwas attributed to natural causes.
Born in Noble County, he was a carpenter and a member of CarlisleGrange.
His wife, Luella Barnes Moore, is a resident of Summit acres NursingHome, Caldwell.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Myrl (Pat)Rubel of Cambridge and Mrs. Perry (Naomi) Philpot of Summerfield; fivesons, Harry T. Jr., Terry and Tom Moore, all of Cambridge, Charles ofSummerfield and Tim of Washington, D.C.; 14 grandchildren; sevengreat-grandchildren; a brother, John P. Moore of Summerfield; twohalf-brothers, Bruce Washington of Massachusetts and Pat Washington;and a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Moore of Summerfield.
One son, Jimmy, was killed in a automobile accident while serving withthe U.S. Army.

Gibson and the late James Carpenter.
She was a member of the Quaker City Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband Donald; a son, Donald of Quaker City; adaughter,
Donna Jean of Quaker city; her mother; a sister, Mrs. Iona Bundy of
Haddonfield, N.J.; and her grandmother, Charlotte Carpenter of Calais.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev.Milford

Donald Bewley

QUAKER CITY---Services for Donald Bewley, 65, of Stafford, will be at2 P.M. Friday at Thorn-Eberle Funeral Home, Quaker City.  The Rev. RonMiller and Rev. Stephen Sparling will officiate.  Burial will be inFriends Cemetery, Quaker City.
Mr. Bewley died at 9:06 P.M. Tuesday (Jan. 5, 1988) at the home of hisdaughter, Donna French in Columbus.  Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to9 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Belmont son of the late Roy and LuraFitch Bewley.
Mr. Bewley was a self-employed auto technician.  He was a member ofQuaker City United Methodist Church,  Moose Lodge and the VFW andAmerican Legion posts of Barnesville.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
His first wife, Geneva Carpenter Bewley, died in 1967.  He was alsopreceded in death by a son, Michael in 1985.
He leaves his second wife, Freda McConnell Jackson Bewley, whom hemarried July 4, 1970;  two step-sons, Donald Jackson of Omaha, Neb.and Jerry Jackson of Wheeling, W.Va.;  his daughter;  twostep-brothers, Robert Bundy of Cambridge and J. T. Bundy of Florida;two step-sisters, Rebecca Hull of Senceaville and Martha Long ofSalesville;  four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Thursday 7 Jan, 1988 Jeffersonian.

Mrs. Bundy leaves her husband, Robert E., whom she married April 4,1945;  her mother and three sons,  Robert E. of Gary, Indiana,  Garyof Utah and Bruce of New Concord;  and one grandchild.  One brotherand one sister are deceased.
