BEALLSVILLE--Services for Mrs. Beulah Neff, 50, of Beallsville, wereset for 2:30 P.M. today (Monday) at Harper Funeral Home.  The Rev.Terry Coomer officiated.  Burial was in Beallsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Neff died Friday (Sept. 24, 1982) at University Hospital inColumbus.
She was born in Belmont County the daughter of the late Harry and MaryCarpenter Riley.  She was a member of Beallsville United MethodistChurch.
Mrs. Neff leaves her husband,  Harry;  one son Terry of Beallsville;two daughters,  Mrs. Ed (Shirlyn) English of Beallsville and Mrs. Jim(Betty) Street of Armstrong Mills;  eight grandchildren;  twobrothers, Ora Riley of North Royalton,  Staring Riley of Beallsville;three sisters, Mrs. Lorena Groves of Mount Vernon, Ind.,  Mrs. Harry(Dorothy) Shafer and Mrs. Hollis (Ruth) Thornberry, both ofBeallsville.  One sister, Lela, is deceased.


Edward I. Ankrum

Services for Edward I. Ankrum, 59, of 214 N. 5th St., will be Mondayin the Henderson, Van Atts and Johnson funeral home, with the Rev.John Fant officiating. Burial will be in Popular Forks Cemetery.
Mr. Ankrom died Thursday evening in Licks Memorial Hospital. He wasborn February 9, 1916, in Gratiot, to Eva Ankrom and the late Earl IAnkrum.
He was an employee of Kaiser aluminum and chemical Corporation and amember of United Steelworkers local 314, Masonic Lodge 97 F&AN, wherehe served as financial secretary, and was a member of the church ofChrist.

1943. Mary Magdaline Burkhart

CALDWELL -- Mary M. Ritterbeck, 90, of Caldwell, died Sunday (Dec. 26,2010) at Red Carpet Health Care Center in Cambridge.
She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Burkhart, daughter of the late Josephand Louisa Carpenter Burkhart.
Mrs. Ritterbeck was a homemaker, and worked as a cook and a waitressat area restaurants and taverns. She was also employed by the formerNoble County Green Thumb Program.
She was a member of the Caldwell VFW Auxiliary, and enjoyed flowergardening and feeding birds, especially bluebirds and hummingbirds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,William C. Ritterbeck, in 1963; a sister, Nona A. Schnelker; threebrothers, Alban K., Malvan W., and Rapheal J. Burkhart; and onegrandson, Martin E. Jennings.
Surviving are her children, Bernadine C. (Larry) Jennings of Caldwell,Marilyn L. Moore (Roger Bailey) of Zanesville, Francis W. "Fritz"Ritterbeck (Eva Miley) of Sharon, Urban Eugene "Gene" Ritterbeck(Nancy Dailey) of Stow, and Charles D. (Sherida) Ritterbeck ofCaldwell; a sister, Rachel M. Calhoun of New Haven, Ind.; and manygrandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, niecesand nephews; and her Red Carpet Health Care family and friends.

CALDWELL-- William Ritterbeck, 63. of Caldwell Route 6 was killedTuesday morning when his pickup smashed into a tree of County Road 13about two miles east of South Olive, Sheriff Richard Fogle reported.
Ritterbeck, a farmer was born March 22, 1901, in Noble County, a sonof Louis and Mary Ann Yeagle Ritterbeck.
Surviving are his widow, Maggie;  two daughters, Mrs. BernadineJennings of Cumberland and Mrs. Marylin Moore of Caldwell;  threesons, Francis Ritterbeck, Charles and Eugene, all of the home;  twogranddaughters; a brother, Ernest Ritterbeck of Akron; two sisters,Mrs. Nellie Yontz of new Lewisville and Mrs. Clara Sorg of nearSummerfield.

Carlos F. Carpenter, 51, Lewisville, died Wednesday in BarnesvilleHospital.  He was born July 19, 1940, near Lewisville,  a son of VernaWehr and the late Alfred Carpenter.
He was a former construction worker and a farmer.
Surviving in addition to his mother,  a resident of Lewisville are hiswife,  Donna Koontz Carpenter;  three sons, Shane and Shaun, both ofNew Martinsville, W.Va. and Dwaine of the home;  three daughters,Misty Dawn Moore of Hernando, Fla.,  Jody and Nicole Carpenter, bothat home;  a brother Dale, of Pleasant City; a sister, Sandra Gardnerof Woodsfield;  three grandchildren.

Dale C. Carpenter, 70, of 3362 Lynn Drive, Zanesville, Ohio (formerlyof Summerfield, Ohio) died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at his home.
He was born near Lewisville, Ohio on July 11, 1937 a son of the lateAlfred D. and Verna Wehr Carpenter.
He was a 1955 graduate of the former Lewisville High School,Lewisville, Ohio; a retired employee of the former ConalcoCorporation, Hannibal, Ohio; a member of the Hartshorn Ridge Church ofChrist near Graysville, Ohio; a member of the Fraternal Order ofEagles, Woodsfield, Ohio; a social member of the V.F.W. Post 5303,Woodsfield, Ohio and a former member of the Summerfield Volunteer FireDepartment, Summerfield, Ohio.
Surviving are five sons: Ryan Dale Carpenter of Cambridge, Ohio, KurtCarpenter of Westerville, Ohio, Jeffrey Armstrong of Columbus, Ohio,Tony Hanes of Florida and Travis Carpenter of Florida; one sister:Sandy Bates of Woodsfield, Ohio; several grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother,Carlos Carpenter.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Calais Cemetery, Calais, Ohiowith Frank Love officiating.

SUMMERFIELD---Judie A. Carpenter, 34, of Summerfield, died at her homeat 11:15 P.M. Friday (Jan. 28, 1983)
She was born in Summerfield on Aug. 1948, daughter of Ancil andMargaret Poulton Haga.  She was a employee of Conalco in Hannibal,where she worked for seven years.  She was a member of the Church ofChrist.  Her first husband, Edward Hanes died in 1969.
She leaves her husband, Dale C. Carpenter;  two sons, Tony Hanes andTravis Carpenter, both of the home;  and one brother, Ronnie Haga ofCaldwell.
The body was cremated.  Brubach Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.  Monday 31 Jan. 1983 Jeffersonian.

Sandra Kay "Sandy" Bates, 62, of 36150 Edwina Road, Woodsfield, Ohiopassed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at her home.
She was born near Lewisville, Ohio on September 13, 1951 a daughter ofthe late Alfred and Verna Wehr Carpenter.
Sandy was a former employee of the Woodsfield Nursing andRehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, Ohio and was a former bartender ather brother's bar in Pleasant City, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers,Dale and Carlos Carpenter.
Surviving are her husband, George "Randy" Bates of the home; twodaughters, Stacy (Jeff) Cutlip of Cambridge, Ohio and Randi Bates ofNew Martinsville, West Virginia; and two grandchildren, Kayla Dudleyand Dilyn Cutlip both of Cambridge, Ohio.

1985. Delbert Ellis Carpenter

NEW LEXINGTON -- Delbert E. Carpenter, 81, of 8586 Ohio 669, N.E., NewLexington, (Saltillo), died at 1 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at hishome.
Born Dec. 5, 1921, in Monroe County, he was a retired coal miner fromSunnyhill, Peabody Coal Company and a member of UMWA and a World WarII Veteran.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Marjorie Friel Carpenter; two sons,Jeffrey (Gail) Carpenter of Newark and Gregory (Diana) Carpenter ofNew Concord; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Emma RoeCarpenter.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on todayat the Roberts Funeral Home, New Lexington.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home withPastor Larry Diamond and Sister Diana Durling officiating.

SUMMERFIELD---Herzel B. Dailey, 51, Lewisville R.D. 2 died at 7:15A.M. Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, where he had beena patient one week.
He was born near Summerfield,  March 25, 1915, son of Charles andHazel Carpenter Dailey.
A veteran of World War II,  Mr. Dailey leaves his wife,  Eunice of thehome; his mother, Mrs. Hazel Dailey of Summerfield; two daughters,Garna and Debra and two sons, Gary and Melvin,  all of the home; fivesisters, Mrs. Virginia Young and Mrs. Ila Hardesty both of Zanesville,Mrs. Wanda Leach of Quaker City R.D., Mrs. Mary Belle Larrick and Mrs.Betty Wise, both of Summerfield and a brother John Dailey ofSummerfield. SUMMERFIELD---John William Dailey, 55, of Cross Street, Summerfield,was killed Saturday in a tractor accident at his farm nearSummerfield.
He was born April 8, 1925, in Noble County, son of Mrs. HazelCarpenter Dailey and the late Charles Dailey.  He was a farmer and hadbeen Star Route mail carrier for 13 years.
He leaves his wife, Myra Coultas Dailey;  two daughters, Mrs. Mike(Renea) Campbell of Summerfield and Mrs. Mark (Lisa) Long ofSalesville; two sons, Stephen and Allen, both of the home;  fivesisters,  Betty Wise and Mary Belle Larrick, both of Summerfield,Wanda Leach of Quaker City R.D. 1, Virginia Tucker of Carlwick and IlaHardesty of Belpre;  and two grandchildren.  One brother Herzel isdeceased.

SUMMERFIELD -- Myra J. Dailey, 81, of Summerfield, died Wednesday(April 20, 2011) at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta.
She was born May 25, 1929, near Calais, daughter of the late Frank andIldrith Carpenter Coultas.
Mrs. Dailey was a retired hairdresser and a former employee ofHamilton-Beach Co., Byesville, and the Food Center, Caldwell.
She was a member of Summerfield Church of Christ, Summerfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,John W. Dailey, on Sept. 30, 1980; a son, Steve Dailey; and an infantsister, Winefred Coultas.
She leaves two daughters, Renea (Mike) Campbell and Lisa Lynn, both ofSummerfield; a son, Allen (Tina) Dailey of Summerfield; 12grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces andnephews.

Paul Joseph Wise

SUMMERFIELD------Paul J. Wise, 49, Summerfield, died unexpectedly athis home 5:30 P.M. Sunday (Oct. 31, 1971) from an apparent heartattack
A veteran of World War 11,  Mr. Wise was born Dec. 30, 1921 at Calais,the son of John S. Wise, Summerfield,  and the late Katherine WehrWise,  and was a member of Summerfield American Legion Post andCaldwell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.  He was disabled with aninjury for some time and had seen service in the Asiatic, Pacific andPhilippe theatres during World War 11.
Mr. Wise leaves, in addition to his father,  his wife,  the formerElizabeth Dailey;  one daughter, Barbara of the home;  two sons,Kenneth and Joseph, both of the home;  three sisters,  Mrs. Sarah LouSnyder, Mrs. Lavina Carpenter, both of Lewisville R.D. and Mrs.Shirley Leach, Quaker City R.D. 4.  One brother Kenneth lost his lifein World War 11.
Friends may call at Bruback Funeral Home, Summerfield, from 2 to 4 and7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday.

Gervis Rollens Leach

Gervis R. Leach, 68, Miltonsburg-Calais Road, Quaker City, (CalaisCommunity) died June 13, 2000 in the Ohio State University Hospital,Columbus.  He was born near Henrysbug, Jan. 23, 1932, a son of thelate Arch and Hazel Powell Leach.
He was a retired equipment operator for B&N/Quinn Development inDexter City and St. Clairsville.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Dailey Leach, whom he married March 9,1952;  a son John R. Leach and his wife Theresa, Summerfield;  twodaughters, Mrs. Tim (Kathy) St. Clair, Cambridge, Mrs. Travis (Janet)Wells, Marietta; two sisters, Barbara Floyd, Zanesville, Carol Davis,Oklahoma City, OK.;  two brothers, Arch Neil Leach and his wife, Ruth,Quaker City, Rex Leach, Quaker City; five grandchild; fourgreat-grandchildren;  several nieces and nephews.

1993. Ila M. Dailey

Ila M. Hardesty, 74, of Beverly, Ohio (formerly of Summerfield, Ohio)went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, December 28, 2009 atthe Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.
She was born in Summerfield, Ohio on June 7, 1935 a daughter of thelate Charles and Hazel Carpenter Dailey.
Ila was a retired bookkeeper and was a member of the Belpre Church ofChrist, Belpre, Ohio. She was a wonderful Christian example toeveryone she knew, a gentle loving person who was loved and will bemissed by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,Charles E. Hardesty on May 17, 2006; two brothers, John and HerzelDailey; two sisters, Wanda Leach and Virginia Tucker.
Surviving are two daughters: Elaine (Paul) Moore of Roanoke, Virginiaand Joni (Greg) Adams of Waterford, Ohio; two sisters: Mary BelleLarrick and Elizabeth “Betty” Wise both of Summerfield, Ohio; sevengrandchildren.

He was born Feb. 13, 1936, near Caldwell, son of the late Cecil andSelma Lahue Hardesty.
Mr. Hardesty was a former letter carrier and retired as superintendentat the Belpre Post Office, Belpre.
He was a member of Belpre Church of Christ, Belpre, Noble CountyGenealogical Society and First Families of Noble County.
He was a U. S. Army veteran.
He leaves his wife, Ila M. Dailey Hardesty; two daughters, Elaine(Paul ) Moore of Troutville, Va., and Jon (Greg) Adams of Waterford; abrother, Larry (Yvonne) Hardesty of Canton; six grandchildren,Jonathon, Hannah, Mary Grace and Abigal Rose Moore, Valerie and RachelAdams.
