Beallsville - Herman Nile Carpenter, 39, of Beallsville Route 3 diedat 7 a.m. Tuesday at his home from a shotgun wound in the head.Monroe County Coroner Paul Turner ruled it was self-inflicted.
A farmer and sawmill worker, Carpenter was born near Beallsville Dec.17, 1923, a son of Dean and Bessie Mellott Carpenter.
He was a World War II veteran.
Surviving are his father; his widow, Mrs. Martha Secrest Carpenter;three children, Linda, Judy and John Carpenter of the home; a brother,Harold Carpenter of Beallsville; and a sister, Mrs. Wilda McDougal ofCleveland.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Harper and Campbell FuneralHome in Beallsville with Rev. Richard Perkins officiating.  Burialwill be in East Sunsbury Church Cemetery.

BEALLSVILLE--Funeral services for Leona Sue, nine month old daughterof Herman and Martha Secrest Carpenter, Beallsville R. D. 3, will beheld Saturday at 1 P.M. at Haper and Campbell Funeral Home.  Rev.Richard Perkins will officiate and burial will be in East SunburyCemetery.
The infant died in Barnesville Hospital Wednesday afternoon followinga short illness of pneumonia.  She was born at Barnesville Hospital onAug. 1.

Beallsville - Carl Orville McDougal, 52, of Elyria, a formerBeallsville resident, was killed Tuesday in an automobile accidentnear Massillon.
He was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Monroe County, a son of Albert McDougalof Beallsville and the late Drucy Miller McDougal.  He was a member ofthe Clarington Church of Christ and was an employee of theBallascollett Company of Elyria.
Surviving besides his father are his widow, Wilda Carpenter McDougal;four sons, Carl of Boise, Idaho, Gale of Cleveland, Donald of Elyriaand Jerry of Tampa, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Carol Hall ofCleveland, Mrs. Hazel Roe and Patricia McDougal, both of Elyria; twobrothers, Theodore of Parma and Leslie of Copley; and a sister Evelynof Beallsville.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the St. Sylvester CatholicChurch, Woodsfield, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infantson, Mark Lumbatis.

He was born June 1, 1940, at Beallsville, son of Edna McDougal and thelate Charlie Carpenter.  He was a brick mason with ConsolidatedAluminum in Hannibal and a member and deacon of First Christan Church,Barnesville.  He belonged to Masonic Lodge 68 FA&AM,  Masonic LodgeR&AM and Council 97 R&AM, all of Barnesville, Cambridge Commandry andKnights Templar.  He was also a member of United Steelworkers ofAmerica.
In addition to his mother of Beallsville;  he leaves his wife, PeggyDyer Carpenter;  two sons, Ty Carpenter and Adam Carpenter of thehome;  a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Dawn) Barker of Barnesville;  twobrothers, Glen of Beallsville and Robert of Rittman;  six sisters,Mrs. Winnie Acher of Wadsworth,  Mrs. Mary Lucas of Rock Springs,Wyo.,  Mrs. Ruth Grossenbacher of Seville,  Mrs. Erma Agin of Bucyrusand Mrs. Betty King and Mrs. Doris Bourne, both of Orville.

Mrs. Acker was born in Beallsville and resided in Guilford Townshipfor 56 years. She was a wonderful homemaker and farmed with herhusband. She was a member of the Wayne County Saddle Club, and enjoyedgardening.

Bucyrus---Nancy Gail Agin, 7 year old daughter of Emmett and ErmaCarpenter of Sandusky Township, RR 2, Bucyrus, died at 1 P.M. Thursdayin Children's Hospital in Columbus. The youngster had been ill withleukemia since July. She was enrolled this year in the first grade atColonel Crawford School.
Nancy was born in Crawford County Feb. 18, 1958.
Surviving are the parents and two brothers, Emmett and Roland, and twosisters, Carolyn and Donna all of the home.

He was retired from North American Coal Company 1 Mine of Powhatan;was the former vice president of the Powhatan Local UMWA; chairman ofthe safety committee, and active with the UMWA throughout his career.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,Marjorie Saffell Wehr; sister, Helma Stephe; brothers, Curtis, Donnieand William Wehr.

BARNESVILLE--Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home here has charge of arrangements for Hillard Curtis Wehr, 39, of Lincoln Ave., who was dead on arrival at 5:30 A.M. today (Tuesday) in Barnesville GeneralHospital of an apparent heart attack.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict and an employee of the YNO Coal Co.,he was born Aug. 11, 1931 in Monroe County, a son of Mrs. Faye Carpenter Wehr and the late Hort Wehr.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Wehr leaves his wife, Betty Pack Wehr;one daughter, Vicki Jo and one son, Kenneth Wehr, both of the home;seven sisters, Mrs. Helma Stephens and Mrs. Beverly Legg, both ofHendrysburg;  Mrs. Eva Mae Brown, Warren,  Mrs. Bernice Moore, Mt.Olivet,  Mrs. Norma Teters, Columbus,  Mrs. Janet Miller, Barnesvilleand Mrs. Velma Newhart, Lewisville R. D.;  seven brothers, Lawrenceand Norma Wehr, both of Barnesville R. D. 4,  William and Roger Wehr,Both of Barnesville,  Vernon Wehr of Bethesda R. D., Donald Wehr ofJerusalem R. D. and Freddie Wehr.
