She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Carpenter, and aninfant daughter, Joyce K. Carpenter.
Mrs. Carpenter leaves two sons, Larry and Thomas Carpenter, both ofBarnesville;  two sisters, Hazel Saffell of Barnesville and DorisBryan of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three grandchildren.

He was born in Quaker City on Jan. 19, 1913, a son of Harry and LouiseMorgan Carpenter.  He was a veteran of World War II and a member ofVFW Post 2792, American Legion Post 168 and Loyal Order of Moose 1294.He was preceded in death by a daughter and sister.
He leaves his wife, Betty Powell Carpenter;  two sons, Larry of thehome and Thomas of Malaga;  a sister, Marguerite Baker of BarnesvilleR. D. 1;  a brother, Russell Carpenter of Barnesville and twograndsons.

CADIZ---Thomas Preston Leach, 49, Cadiz, died Monday evening (July 17,1972) in his home following a sudden illness.
Born in Barnesville, May 6, 1923, he was a son of the late Henry P.and Bertha Powell Leach, and was a member of Harrisville UnitedPresbyterian Church, where he was a active leader.
He was employee of the Department of Defense, was master of CommunityGrange and a member of U. S. Reserve Unit 660.
Mr. Leach leaves his wife, the former Mabel Lough; two daughters, MissKaren Leach, Hampton, Va., and Miss Susan Leach of the home; two sons,Terry and Larry, both of the home; one brother, Col. Charles R. Leach,Chillicothe; and three half-sisters and three half-brothers.
Friends may call at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, today after 7P.M. and Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Diana June Wehr, 68, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 13,2012 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Shewas born March 14, 1944 in Guernsey County, Ohio, daughter of the lateDale Mayberry and Helen Carpenter Mayberry.
Diana was a former X-Ray Tech and later worked with the former 5 B'sClothing Factory of Barnesville, Ohio. She was a member of BarnesvilleMain Street United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and
3C's Cancer Support Group of Barnesville.
Diana is survived by her husband, Norman "Jake" Wehr; daughters, AngieGray of Columbus, Ohio and Kim (Brian) Briggs of Lewis Center, Ohio;son, Jeff Wehr of Barnesville, Ohio; grandchildren Morgan Gray andQuinn and Rylee Briggs; and sister, Beverly (Jess) Baker ofBarnesville, Ohio.

She was born May 18, 1939 in Eldon, OH, daughter of the late DaleMayberry and Helen Carpenter Mayberry.
Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avidBrowns fan. She loved Bingo, camping with her grandchildren, and herdog, Snicklefritz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister,Diane Wehr.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 46 1/2 years, Jess L. Baker, ofBarnesville, OH; daughter, Mistie and Buddy Bussa, of Barnesville, OH;grandchildren, Lewis and Shawna Bussa, of Barnesville, OH, Jessica andDrew Pumphrey, of Rushville, OH.

Gene A. Carpenter, 77, Barnesville, OH, passed from the loving arms ofhis wife into the arms of our Heavenly Father January 15, 2013 at hishome.  He was born June 26, 1935 to the late Lester Carpenter and MaryEvelyn Shipman Carpenter Barton.  In additon to his parents, he waspreceded by a daughter, Peggy McMillen and an infant son, David.
Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Barbara Stottler Carpenter;sons, Benjamin (Jean) Carpenter and Jon (Susie) Carpenter both ofKipling, OH; daughter, Heidi (Randy) Fisher of Barnesville;grandchildren, Morgan and Adam Carpenter, Oakley Von Carpenter, LoganFisher, Ivy and Sage Fader, Violet and Autumn Fisher,Jon and Susie areexpecting in May,  Shane (Chenae) Carpenter and Kayla Carpenter; greatgrandsons, Laythe and Peyton; and sisters and brother, Carol Smith ofIndiana, Betty Carpenter of Quaker City. Sandy (Mike) Manglitz ofWisconsin and Jimmy (Debbie) Carpenter of Indiana.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- James E. "Jim" Smith, 75, of Indianapolis,passed away Sunday (Feb. 8, 2009).
He was born April 7, 1933, in Salesville, Ohio, to the late Sylvan andPearl (McBurney) Smith.
He married Carol Carpenter on Dec. 2, 1956, in Apple Creek, Ohio, andshe survives.
He was a member of Center United Methodist Church and was a veteran ofthe U.S. Air Force.
Other survivors include his son, Mike (Karen) Smith of Indianapolis;daughter, Lynn (Britt) Moore of Martinsville; grandchildren, Eric andAimee Smith, Brad (Emily), Brent and Brittany Moore;great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Moore; and sisters, Evelyn (Phillip)Harding of Byesville, Ohio, and Mazie Grimsley and Helen McLaughlin,both of Cambridge, Ohio.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Singleton Community Mortuary andMemorial Center with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at themortuar
Interment Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Mr. Carpenter, a retired employee of the B&O and Chessie railroads. AU.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of CentralChristian Church in Quaker City.
He leaves his wife, Alberta Carter Carpenter, whom he married July 3,1951; three sons, Nelson Carpenter of Salesville and Bradley andGordon Carpenter, both of Quaker City; one daughter, Lori of the home;four brothers, William N. QUAKER CITY -- William N. "Bill" Carpenter, 77, of Zanesville, andformerly of Quaker City, died Monday (Jan. 10, 2011) at Genesis-GoodSamaritan Medical Center, Zanesville.
He was born Nov. 10, 1933, in Quaker City, son of the late Ernest H.Carpenter and Emma Lucille (Knight) Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter worked for eight years with Bannock Coal Company, 20years with Broughton Dairy, and 10 years with B&O Railroad.  Heenjoyed fishing and golfing.  He was a 1951 graduate of Quaker CityHigh School.  Mr. Carpenter was a member of Central Christian Churchof Quaker City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers,Don and Larry.
He is survived by a son, Gregory (Janet) Carpenter of Galloway; fourdaughters, Monica (Denny) Shannon of Cambridge, Holly Smith of OldWashington, Angela (Rusty) Hannahs of Salesville and Amy Carpenter(Jeff Powell) of Barnesville; three brothers, Gary (Myrle) Carpenterof Cambridge, Kenneth (Connie) Carpenter of Cambridge and Ronald(Linda) Carpenter of Quaker City; a sister, Nancy (Bill) Perkins ofNavarre; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and agreat-great-grandson; and his former wife and mother of his children,Virginia Carpenter of Quaker City.

Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Haidnagle Funeral Home,Massillon. Burial will be in that city. Friends may call at thefuneral home from 7 to 9 P.M. today.
Mr. Carpenter was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Carpenter ofQuaker City.

Services were conducted Saturday at 1:30 P.M. at the Eberle FuneralHome at Quaker City for Roger Scott Carpenter, 14 months-old son ofLarry and Betty Borton Carpenter of East Greenville. The infant diedearly Thursday morning of last week at Massillon City Hospital after a4-months illness. Rev. G.C. Satterfield officiated and burial was madein Greenlawn Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, the child leaves two sisters, Rhonda andRobin; three brothers, Randy, Rocky and Rodney; his grandparents, Mr.and Mrs. Ernest Carpenter of Quaker City, Joe Borton of EastGreenville, and Mrs. Eva Wittmer of Quaker City R.D.; and hisgreat-grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Knight of Quaker City. Jennifer Dee Carpenter, daughter of Gary and Myrtle Watson Carpenterof Cambridge, was dead at birth at Guernsey Memorial Hospital inCambridge at 1:30 P.M. Monday Sept. 23.  The father is a formerresident of Quaker City.
In addition to the parents, the infant is survived by Mr. and Mrs.Wilmer Watson, Senecaville Route 1, and Mrs. Earnest H. (Lucille)Carpenter of Quaker City.  Surviving great-grandchildren are Mrs.Angie Watson of Sarahsville Route 1, Arthur Cum of Senecaville Route 1and Mrs. Ruth Knight of Quaker City.
