BARNESVILLE---Mary L. Sullivan 58, of Canton, formerly of Barnesville,died Saturday (March 10, 2001) in Canton.
She was born April 27, 1942, in Barnesville, daughter of Ethel (Leach)Carpenter of Barnesville and the late Ellis Carpneter.
Mrs. Sullivan was a member of Barnesville American Legion Auxiliary.
She leaves a son, Emmett Sullivan of Canton;  four daughters,  MandySullivan, Mindy Sullivan and Gretchen Boyer,  all of Canton and Mrs.Jim (Melissa) Shannon of Dalton;  a brother, David Carpenter ofBarnesville;  three sisters, Linda Curluter and Sandra Wells bothCanton and Shirley Dyer of North Canton;  10 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 11 A.M. Tuesday at Campbell-Plumly-MilburnFuneral Home, Barnesville, where services will follow at 1 P.M. PastorMike McFreen will officiate.  Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery,Barnesville.

Attempts to revive a 23 month old girl who had fallen into a lily pondin the north end of Barnesville, failed last Thursday afternoon andshe was dead on arrival at the Barnesville hospital.
The youngster was Candy Sullivan, daughter of Richard and MaryCarpenter Sullivan of Canton who had been visiting with her mother whois expecting the birth of another child soon, at the the home of Mrs.Sullivan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Carpenter, North Chestnutstreet.
The child apparently wandered away from the home about 4 P.M. and fellinto the lilly pond on Kennard avenue, a short distance from the homeof her grandparents.
The girl was found by her grandmother and was given mouth-to-mouthresuscitation by a neighbor and also by ambulance attendants on theway to the hospital, attempts to revive her being futile.
Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Campbell funeral Homeat 1:30 o'clock by the Rev. Larry Miracle, pastor of the FirstChristian church.  Burial was made in Crestview cemetery.
Besides the parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.Ellis Carpenter, Barnesville, and Mr. and Mrs. James E. Sullivan, ofCanton.


3704. Bradley Casey

WEST LAYFAYETTE---A massive rescue operation involving worker fromTuscarawas, Coshocton and Holmes counties recovered the body of a 20year-old Sarahsville man from the Tuscarawas River river here Sundaymorning.
Coshocton County Sheriff's officials said the body of Bradley Caseywas recovered by divers at 9:30 A.M. in 10 to 12 feet of water.
Rescue operations began at 1:34 A.M. when Casey's cousin, RichardBates of West Lafayette, called the sheriff's department to report apossible drowning.
Bates and Casey were reportedly working a trot line in the river whentheir boat capsized.  Bates told authorities he was able to swim toshore and call for help.
Dr. Donald G. Warren, Coshocton County coroner, was at the scene andruled the drowning accidental.
Mr. Casey was born Nov. 1, 1962 in Cambridge, son of Charlotte CaseyBrumage and the late Rex Casey.
A Shenandoah High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College graduate,he was a member of Pleasant Hill Community Church and Caldwell EaglesAerie 2952.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his step-father, Harry Brumage;a brother, John of Caldwell;  two sisters, Mrs. James (Wendy) Hughleyof Caldwell and Trudy of the home;  a half-brother, Jay Brumage withthe U.S. Marines Corps in the Phillipine Islands; a half-sister,  Mrs.Gae Tretenick of Clarksville, PA.;  maternal grandmother, Irene Clarkof Sarahsville; paternal grandparents, Charles and Betty Casey ofSarahsville;  and a nephew Charley Hughley.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. today at McVay FuneralHome, Caldwell, where services will be 1 P.M. Thursday with Rev. PaulMcGraw officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.Tuesday 5 July 1983 Jeffersonian.

Visiting at Carpenter's Chapel, until religious service, conducted by Rev. Jared Williams. Interment in church cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Gullett and husband Marvin, Debbie Noble and husband Frank, Jayme Reagan and husband Joe; son, Rev. Aaron Carpenter and wife Rev. Amanda Carpenter; brother, Donald Parsons and wife Joan; ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Aaron J. Carpenter; and one great granddaughter Jon'Clair Petite.
